Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
Hey guys, not sure if anyone is a Kingdom Hearts fan or anything, but I did a little bit more homework and it seems KH has a history of 3 man groups. Usually 2 males and 1 female.
Kingdom Hearts 1
Sora, Riku, Kairi
Sora, Donald, Goofy
Kingdom Hearts 2
Sora, Riku, Kairi
Hayner, Pence, Olette
Seifer, Fuu, Rai
Leon, Yuffie, Aeris
Leon, Cloud, Tifa
Kingdom Hearts 365/2
Roxas, Namine, Axel
Roxas, Axel, Xion
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Aqua, Terra, Ventus
You must see the pattern by now.

I don't think it's escaped anyone's notice. You could even include Sora, Riku, and Mickey as another possible setup.
On to what I came here for:
I was thinking about the phrase "If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you do it?". And the more I think of it, it seems more like the answer is "Yes, I would. I have good friends who are all very rationale. And if they're jumping off, there must be a good reason for it."
Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
Peer pressure isn't always a bad thing. I'm pretty sure there were some tests I only passed because all my friends were studying for them. It's a dumb phrase.
Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
If my parents had understood why "but all of the kids at school have ______" really was a big deal, I might not have gotten bullied quite as badly as I had been.
Then again, they may have just found something else to get on me about, but really, a lot of the things I asked for as a kid would have cost little to nothing more and would have done a lot to helping me feel like I would fit in. Wasn't allowed to watch <show>, literally all the kids in my school would talk about. Wasn't allowed to listen to <band>, everyone was singing their songs during recess. Etc. By the time I left grade school I found myself standing alone at recess between the bushes at our school with a book because I knew that if I tried to approach anyone I would get made fun of, threatened, and possibly even assaulted.
But it was totally necessary to shelter me and keep me away from all those horrible things, wasn't it? Because being exposed to a show where I might have seen some inappropriate content was much worse than letting the entire fucking school ostracize me, right? Turning me into a recluse who still has trouble making actual human connections? I am glad that they let me have the one thing that kept me sane all those years, which was dance, but even at the dance studio I was treated like shit by jealous bitches, when all I wanted to fucking do was dance and escape everything I hated so much about my life.
Sometimes I think about all this bullshit and I really hate my childhood. I'm in no way trying to spoil my kids, but I'm damn sure gonna listen when they tell me that they want these frames instead of those because the thick geek glasses will get them teased. Really mom and dad, would it have hurt anything at all to let me have wire-rimmed glasses? Would it have cost you anything? No? Then why couldn't you let me make that decision for myself? I may have been eight when I got my first pair of glasses but eight is old enough to make a simple decision like what frame to get.
Wow, I went off on a hell of a tangent, didn't I ... I just hate how they always say "don't give in to peer pressure," sure, when they tell me to smoke weed or drink underage or have sex ... but for stupid minor shit like what style of jeans I wore or how my hair was to be styled - why the fuck couldn't I make some of these decisions myself? What harm would it have done to let me fit in just a little? It wouldn't have hurt a goddamn bit to let me pick my own fucking frames for my glasses. And no matter how hard I cried when I came home about how badly I got teased, it didn't even fucking matter to my parents, and now that I have my own kids I sit there and wonder how they could not see how much it hurt me and how it could not also hurt them too just to see their own fucking child hurting.

I wouldn't jump with them. I'd walk down to the water, pull them out, and ask "Hey, why the fuck did you do that?". Unless they died when they hit the water or drowned. Then I'd just haul them ashore and slowly shake my head while the camera panned out.
I'm sorry, I'm a woman and woman are fucking disgusting when it comes to using the bathroom. I've been in a men's bathroom, cleaner than a woman's I'll tell you that much.

Well it is more hygienic for guys to pee sitting down since there's less risk of peeing over the floor.
And to be fair, some men's bathrooms are pretty disgusting. There's a Heavy Metal bar in my hometown where the only one cubicle in the men's downstairs toilet tends to be full of beer bottles, and/or has any combination of a man and women, two men, or two women having sex in there.

I disagree. Do women urinate on everything? Men do.
