Possibly because 3D is over rated, and we already live in a 3D world?

The fact that we live in a 3D world is reason enough to take 3D photos instead of pretending it's normal to project scenes onto a 2D plane.

Really? Some people's eyes can't handle the 3D effects on computer screens (Me).

I picked up a 3DS for a few minutes, and I had to put it down because it bothered my eyes so much in 3D.
