About time we got him. I'm hoping that it doesn't cause all sorts of all kinds of new terrorist uprisings against us. I'd think that it might be a good time to be cautious.

But this guy was an icon. Finally getting his ass sends a powerful message, and gives closure to the 9/11 victims' families.

To me, this just reinforces my belief all along that the U.S. needs to get rid of all the useless, expensive occupation forces and continue to black ops the shit out this nonsense. This is how you deal with these assholes. Take appropriate measures @ home, & have small teams gathering intel & taking action. You don't send a regimented army to fight a bunch of gorilla assholes with no uniform and no real rules of engagement.

I have Facebook friends saying he's been dead for years, and that this was a strategic move by Obama. Not sure I believe that, but not sure I don't, either. I mean how much do we really know about what goes on at the highest level of government?

Either way, it's a good feeling, knowing that asshole is dead.

Also, watching Obama talk now and I kind of want to hear what Bush has to say. I mean hell, he was the one who started this hunt. He must be pretty damn glad to hear about all this.

There were newer, supposed contemporary videos of Osama that featured a younger Osama without the greying beard, yet it seemed like was talking about the same current things we hated him for. He very well could have been dead for years and it was just kept under wraps.

There's a lot of things the goverment just won't tell us. Sometimes they wait to tell us things to elate us when things are kinda sucky and this is one of those thing that would qualify, wouldn't it?

So I doubt its any ploy on Obama's part.

I'd just as soon assume they did just cap the bastard. Supposedly Obama gave the kill order on April 29th.

I think if he had been dead and they were just sitting on the story for a polling boost, they'd have either popped it before now because their numbers have been low for a while, or they'd have saved it until closer to the election to turn that approval into real votes.

Yeah the timing is off if it's a "wag the dog" kind of thing, also, I'd think Bush would have used that before his time was up, no doubt about it. (Assuming he had been dead for years, as some say.) Nothing like going out of your presidency with a huge story like that to make people forget about the whole WMD debacle.

They did make the point that May 1st was the same day that Hitler was announced to be dead, as well, which I find a bit interesting, and I'm sure some conspiracy theorists will have a field day with that. But really ... glad to hear that he's dead, and I honestly don't care if he was killed yesterday or six years ago, the bastard is dead. It won't bring any of the people he killed back, but it's a nice bit of closure for probably a lot of people.

I'm pleased to see justice in some fashion has been served although if I'm honest I find the celebration of someone's death, no matter how "evil", to be a little unsettling. That said, there are people still out there with the blood of our countrymen on their hands still walking free unpunished, your president and my ex-Prime Minister being among them.
