Re: Successful troll is the goddamn president of the United States.
Yeah, the whole birther matter was always a bit stupid to me.
Don't get me wrong, I like that Donald Trump is right on Americans needing a fighter running against the president.
Thing is we need fighters that pick the right fights. Trump picks the wrong ones and he's pretty much out there to be a spoiler like Perot anyway if he sticks with it, which I don't think he will anyway.
And I will admit, The Lion King bit got a smile out of me. Usually I can't even stomach three minutes of Obama, but that part at least was well done. Hopefully Trump will sit down and shut the fuck up now.

Re: Successful troll is the goddamn president of the United States.
I cracked when Optimus Prime showed up and lost it on his "birth video." Self-deprecating humor from "the most powerful man in the world" gets instant from me. Started to run pretty lame by the time they showed the movie trailer, though.

And he actually Rick rolled them with his birth video. XD
Pretty nice.

PS > Maybe it's because I'm a simpleton and don't watch movies often anymore, but I actually liked that extended trailer. XDsigpic

Epic choice for opening music

As CNN pointed out a while ago, the original document he gave back when he ran is actually the legal standard now - the so-called "Long-form" certificate is actually invalid and will not be accepted by the government anymore. So choke on that Birthers. Idk wtf Trump's thinking pursuing this shit, other than publicity. Either way I've lost a lot of respect for him and he really should be ashamed.
EDIT: Still watching, can't help but wonder if Obama's gonna hand out any cream afterwards for all the burnsLast edited by Malacite; 05-01-2011, 01:38 AM.

Re: Successful troll is the goddamn president of the United States.
It's coded racism/people who are just really, fucking stupid.
As Freud once said: Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Or in this case, just stupid. Most sensible people let go of the birther issue long ago knowing it had no merit - fringe morons like Trump did not.
This isn't the first time Trump has made a bid for office, he's done it before. He's not really a democrat or republican and though I'm sure he's done a lot of good, he's done some seedy things too, like getting little old ladies evicted from their homes so he can develop on the property. He's donated to members of both parties often, usually for development deals in particular regions, so he's a chameleon politically. Not the kind of person I want in the Oval Office.

Yeah, but that's become the knee-jerk reaction to any criticism of Obama - "Oh, they're just being racist."
I'm not going to go into it much more though because I am definitely in favor of handling the doing something about the fiscal issues. But the Right has soured my position by dragging the social issues into it (using Department of Justice money to hire big fancy lawyers to defend DOMA, then turning around and cutting spending by attacking Planned Parenthood). The latter is actually a pretty ingenious move if the former didn't show the hypocrisy of it.sigpic

And, really, the democrats had the ability to pass a budget last year while they still had the supermajority. They didn't make a budget at all for 2011 when they we supposed to do it in 2010 - so they're very much to blame for some of the cuts that are going to happen because they let it happen last year.
But it was intentional that they didn't do it, all part of the game. They wanted to set the stage for the dramas of 2011. Mean old republicans will naturally try to make cuts on their favored social programs, even if democrats do literally spend more on them than they should (not that republicans don't, mind you).
What saddens me is there are still no talks on term limits from either side because as long as there are not stringent term limits, this ping-pong bullshit is going to continue with both parties.
