He and his brother (also earless) were rescue kitties. In their original home, they were horribly neglected - both had such bad infestations of ear mites that they scratched their own ears off. It's "just" the triangle parts that are missing. They can hear just fine, though. When they hear sounds, they turn their little stumps just like most kitties turn their ears.

I love America!

All of our kitties right now are rescues of one kind of another. Only two of the five managed to remain entirely their natural colors for Easter. Two got little bits of blue & Timmy got the full treatment (because he's the one who will put up with it -- and he's the one whose fur takes the color best).

Pfft. We've done it many years running & he still lets me. Plus -- if we color the other cats, they can't pick on him for it. He came to me for a long snuggle last night, so I can tell he can't be too broken up about the whole thing. He's such a lovey boy.
