I just hate when people "Like" their own status and posts. For some reason, it makes me do this rage, facepalm combo.

I think this is why Destructoid changed "Like" to "Fap" on their site, that way it takes on a whole new meaning.

I'm tired of seeing this:

A15 year old girl holds her 1 year old son; people call her a ****, but no one knows she was raped at 13. People call a girl fat; no one knows she has a serious disease that causes her to be overweight. People call an old man ugly; no one knows he had a serious injury to his face while serving our country in Vietnam. Re-post this if your against bullying and stereotyping!

This won't help people stop stereo typing, if you truly are against it, you would go out and stop those who are.

Nothing is going to stop people from stereotyping. It's part of the way the human brain works. The best thing we can do is keep in mind that stereotypes are only that and weigh that judgment against evidence on a case by case basis. The problem in each of those cases isn't the stereotyping itself, but acting with senseless cruelty on the basis of nothing else.

"Your" vs "You're" is a deal-breaker. *twitch*

(same for "should have" vs "should of," "its" vs "it's," differences among "they're, their, there" or "two, too, to," and lots of others I'm not even thinking of at the moment)

eh, Your, and You're are the two words I actually have the most issue with getting correctly with grammar. I always mess up the two, and I hate it when people correct me on my status about it. Don't be a grammar nazi about shit like that! Its a common mistake for me, because of my disability!

I'm a proofreader. I get paid to be a grammar nazi... and there's pretty much no excuse for mixing up "your" and "you're." With an apostrophe, and an "re," it's pretty clear that "you're" is a contraction for "you are," which has nothing to do with possession.

Misspelling the names of states also makes me twitch.

Even if you are paid to be one, you don't need to be one when you are being social. I talk with an english teacher at times, and she always points out my typos, and fixes what I have typed wrong. It annoys me to no end.

Its the internet, you don't need to fix other people's mistakes.

This stupid crap. You click on some link that is ostensibly content your friend liked or commented on, and you're taken to a page like this that spoofs facebook's style and has a submit button you hit before taking you to the alleged content. Except there is no content. Hitting submit just spams your wall and all your friends' feeds with a link to this non-content. I first saw this kind of thing months ago and learned my lesson, but every now and then one makes the rounds that a lot of my friends fall for. It's nothing dangerous or insidious as far as I know, just a damn nuisance.

I used to hate those scam posts from games like FarmVille (which I played for a while) which would be like, "Jessica found this golden cow!" and you'd click on it and it would just instruct you to spam invite all of your friends to "like" the page but you'd get nothing, and then my "friends" would be all like, "I clicked it and did what it said, why didn't I get the golden cow?"

IT WAS A SCAM YOU FUCKING IDIOT. And it was the same two people who would always fall for this kind of crap. It used to make me rage so hard, but now that I stopped playing that game and I blocked the app I haven't had to see any of that bullshit anymore.

It's the "holier than thou" and "back in my day things were better" attitude.

I grew up with video games and played the shit out of them, like most people here I suspect. I still remember going outside and playing with my bike, roller skates, stilts, water balloons, super soaker, boomerang, and r/c car at various points of my childhood. I also remember playing with lincoln logs, slinkies, Legos, Nerf dart guns, Nerf footballs, and all sorts of action figures. I don't see why that person's childhood experiences have to be mutually exclusive with video games.

I just think apathy is increasingly running amok with each new generation. I don't know if technology is to blame or the human race.

More to the topic proper, I don't know how far this has spread, but one of my relatives seems to have lost their Facebook account to a trojan today. If someone sends you a link to at http://alumahangers.com/Osama.JPG do not click on it, and for heavens sake don't go running any executable files the target site asks you to download. Don't trust exes, people, that's internet 101.
