Re: $3 Billion Election
I've always wished for zero campaign ads. They do nothing, inform of nothing and turn the process in little more than a popularity contest and mud toss entertainment instead of the serious process it should be. If people wants reality TV they can always go watch MTV or something.
Instead of that I'd rather have dedicated sites and magazines which would contain exclusively:
- Biographic data on the candidate
- Proposals (not promises)
- Methods to accomplish said proposals with proper analysis and projections for everyone to read and discuss about
- A dossier of the politician's career and accomplishments
- A fact checking wiki
- Misc. files on strategies and views for making the country better
- Zero mentions of opposing candidates (that one and such)
- ???
- Etc.
With maybe just a picture or two of the candidate in question and as much info to read through as possible to make a more informed decision. All of it overseen by watchdog groups and grass roots organizations making sure politicians don't try just to bluff their way to office.
Or something, I don't really have the energy to think right now. Freaking daylight savings BS always makes the first week freaking hell for me.
PS > I'm Caldari-an, meritocracy ftw.

Also, allow donations after the elections, not before.
What if all the billions people toss to the ground just to get people elected were instead used to make your favorite proposals happen?
Say there's a 30000gil budget to make that awesome new Rhinostery building in Windy. If people donated say, another 2000g maybe they could add more dummies to practice spells. With 20000 maybe another wing to improve service or another new building in another part of windy. Maybe better research for wands.
Wouldn't that be better than using the same money just to see Shantotto laugh for 30 seconds every hour on Windy TV?
I wonder blunder....
