As an easily mockable thing that a lot of people my age remember from their childhoods, it doesn't surprise me that the brony community would be fertile ground for it to become a meme.
Oh. And cursory research indicates that The Hub played the hell out of the commercial during the season 3 premiere.
Well I know what Gak is but why is it even a meme?
Because Gak is back and they advertised this fact with impunity during every single commercial break during the season 3 premier. It's pretty ridiculous.
I don't know which came first, the image or this, but it's worth pointing out that welovefine recently released a googly eyes pony shirt.
Pinkie Pie? Check.
Slapstick comedy? Check.
So many unexpected moments? Triple check.
I'm not going to spoil it in case you haven't watched it yet, but let me just say -- I busted a gut when I saw it. It's been a while since I literally "lol'd".
Bonus points for showing Pinkie won't be reduced to... well, whatever comedy-type characters get reduced to. A tiny bit of depth toward the Pink Party Pony is always welcome.
I always have to do this for social media games. In MLP, you basically never want to produce the advanced product from any building. You have to double your horsepower to be able to make it, and it nets you the exact same number of bits per minute as the raw material item. If you have three ponies working in a building, producing the completed item means you don't get to collect your 3rd pony bonus bits as often vs the raw material. The best case scenario for maximizing bits per ponies per minute is to have each pony working alone in each shop, producing the base item. If that's not possible, you should assign groups of 3 ponies per shop to collect bonus bits until your number of empty shops exceeds the number of unassigned ponies, then assign the rest one per shop.
For example, I currently have 5 ponies and each of the first 4 shops. My most efficient setup is to have three ponies working the windmill for grain, and one pony each on cherries and lemons, gaining me ~113 bits per minute. If I got a 6th pony, it will actually be most beneficial to assign him to the apple stand, even though the payoff per minute from its items is abysmal, because there is zero marginal benefit from assigning him to the cherry or lemon stands. That's assuming the carrot stand doesn't have better output when I get it, which will be at the same time. If redundant buildings don't have steeply diminishing returns, it would actually be a good long term investment to build three more lemon stands, just to have everyone working at peak efficiency.
This is if you're actively playing and collecting each item as it appears. When you put the device down, the best configuration is to have everypony working on the items with the biggest per-item payoff to maximize the bits waiting for you when you get back.
