    My first compromised account!

    Well, it's finally happened. I have not played Vindictus in 2-3 weeks and had decided I was basically done with the game, but last night I was really bored so I decided to log in for a while. Upon logging in I discovered my main character stripped of all items, money and equipment and my other 2 characters deleted.

    I have never had this happen before, and I really don't know how it could have happened. I never visit suspicious sites or download anything even remotely fishy and I use FireFox with NoScript and AdBlock. Not to say that makes me invulnerable to a keylogger, but I have always been careful about these things and it's just surprising that it happened. I did a full virus and spyware scan immediately after finding out about it and nothing threatening popped up, so I really don't know what could have happened.

    I'm glad that it happened in a game I pretty much quit, at least. I submitted a ticket to Nexon to see if they'd restore my stuff anyway. I'd like everything I worked for to be there even if I do never play the game again.

    Sorry to hear that Tickmeoff. I hate when that shit happens but sometimes its a blessing in disguise....if you know what I mean. lol

        I hope they are able to help you get some of your gear/trophies/memories/VanaLife back. But maybe like TGM said, it's for the best...

          From my exp with them in the past >< they dont do very much to help you in a situation like this..... I just hope they have a change of heart with you! ^^ if not there is always other MMO's you can play.

          FFXI has pretty much reached the point of no return atm, meaning new players would be few and far between considering it would be hard to get back into the game since it is so old and requires so much to catch up to anyone who is currently playing it.

            Ironically, I have actually gotten back into the game after this. I submitted a ticket describing what happened to see if I can get my stuff back, but in the mean time I am playing again and trying to reacquire some decent gear so I can start doing the newer content while I wait/in case I don't get my stuff back.

            The items and equips aren't that big of a deal actually, what upsets me the most is my other characters being deleted. One was fairly high level and the other was of decent level as well, and that's a lot of work I wouldn't want to do again. Significantly more work than just running dungeons solo and rebuilding my gear, at least.

            Well, here's hoping that they restore at least my 2 characters and maybe their gear. Fingers crossed.
