Re: Why people are scared of being single?

    Single by choice.

The game takes too much effort, and I'm selfish. My time and money is for me, and I don't want to spend my free time worrying about whether some girl likes me or if I should go on a date or chill with my friends. I'm too young for that. Besides, most girls I know are just... not right for me. Too much partying, too much drinking, no respect, etc etc. I'm pretty sure I just know too many girls and not enough women.
Burning questions are burning: Is jenova_9 really a girl and is she cute? Does she talk like that in real life?

    Burning.

    This is why I J9: http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/off...otionally.html

Even in my hey day I could not have drank like THAT! I'm such a lightweight now that one glass of wine, drank too quickly, will give me the damn bed spins. lol
The sad thing is its not just the large cities, its all cities, small towns etc all over the UK. In Lincoln we have on the weekend prison vans normally used to take prisoners to court, in the police stations car park to keep inmates till the morning as the jail cells are always full.

You can see why its difficult for me to go out on the town.

Yes the police are well versed on these situations and to be honest if you looked at their work for a week, over 60% of their work will be dealing with alcahol related crime.

You look at the women getting totally trollied and basically they are so gone they are anyones. That doesn't appeal to me at all and the sad thing is the majority of girls around my age (31) and 10 years younger (21) are like that and its very difficult to find someone who isn't, yes their out their but I havn't found them yet don't get me wrong I'm not saying its wrong to drink but I would want someone who could drink "responsibly" however that word seems to be swept under the carpet.

Re: Why people are scared of being single?

People are scared of being single for a variety of reasons. Many of which have already been stated. I think the biggest reason though is that people think that they will be more happy being in a relationship with someone than being by themselves. This is dead wrong!!

You have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with someone else.

Even then, no relationship is perfect. You are eventually going to come to a disagreement about something with your partner. But these times will test your relationship, and if it's meant to be then both people can work it out and continue down the path with a stronger bond with each other. It's all about give and take, and compromise. Oh yeah and trust as someone else stated.

I was in a horrible relationship where I was providing completely for the other person and getting absolutely nothing out of it. Four years later I was still lying to myself and feeling like a soulless husk for always giving up everything to please the other person. One day it slammed me in the face that no matter how much I tried to make the relationship work it was doomed to failure. I blamed myself for a long time when it was really all the other persons fault. My needs were not being met and I just thought that if I kept sacrificing and being the best boyfriend ever that I would get the love that I thought I needed.

Now I realize love is a farce. Romantic love anyways. I have a love for all human beings. I try not to judge, always treat others with respect, and just try to better myself every day. Sometimes I slip up but I'm only human. If I can find someone that will accept me for me with all my weird habits and crazy thoughts then that would be awesome, but I'm not lonely being single. I too have come to the point where my friends are getting married and having children or moving far away. People come and people go, I have met a lot of new people too. Life goes on and you can't try to live in the past--and here's an amazing quote from Harle of Chrono Cross explaining why!!

        " Voilà!
        You are Monsieur Lynx!
        It'z az simple az zat.
        Zat iz who you are!
        C'est la réalité!
If you try and go against
        réalité...
        Réalité will surely
        crush you.
        Réalité will kill you.
        And réalité will continue
to go on az if not'ing
        ever happened...
        From yesterday to today,
        and from today to tomorrow.
        Réalité marchez on...
        Leaving your crushed
        body behind..."

With that in mind you just gotta keep taking the next step forward towards your own goals and ambitions. Live each day to the fullest and don't waste it worrying about stupid things like being single...alrighty then.

As for the person who wants to date the co-worker...HELLZ NO!!! At least wait for one of you to quit or something, then chase that person down like a starving tiger does an antelope!!

Lastly, I didn't realize how bad alcoholism was in the UK!! You learn something new every day...

Seriously Jarre just stay optomistic and don't let other people bring you down, there are so many people out there who are worth the time, you just gotta find them. :D
