I met my current girlfriend at the karate school I belong to. We were both fighters, and I was attracted to her personality, namely her passion. I need people in my life with potential, and who explore that potential, and she meets that criteria. I know she'll meet challlenges head-on, and we'll tackle them together. I can't imagine days without her, even though I would technically consider this a long-distance relationship. She goes to a college five hours away. I'm glad I'm not single.

But, uh, asking a coworker out? My advice probably wont be the best, but I would take a more cautious approach. Dating somebody you work out with, with other people too, was risky. I think we made a lot of waves, but it worked out in the end. I think that it involves a job makes it more risky. I found ways of hanging out with my girlfriend, before we were official, and I lucked out in that she liked me too. I also played a lot of Texas Hold'Em on Facebook with her, in the beginning. Not so much anymore, as it got kind of old, but it was a fun game to play together while chatting.

I avoid one club due to some twat pinning me ont eh floor trying to force alcahol down my throat as apparently" no ones allowed to leave that club sober", he got pulled off me by one of the bouncers and I was asked to leave.....

You know this is called assault, right? Do you live in some sort of weird backwater where drinking is the only activity? There has to be something else you can do with your time that doesn't involve going to bars if things like this are seriously happening to you.

Long answer? It may not even be allowable in your company's policy, but honestly, this is generally ill-advised. If the relationship goes south, then you still have to see this person every day. How fun!

Binge drinking is a nationwide problem over here. We're leading the way with teenage alcoholics and twenty year olds with liver and pancreatic disease.

on a friday and saturday night the police numbers in teh city centre are doubled, 4 undercover cops walk around and around the clubs, the city is covered by 256 CCTV cameras monitored by 12 staff in cctv control 24/7 one camera is where this was taken from. People go out get trashed and then want to fight and usually if your sober your one they want to go for.

I'm just speaking in general terms. Unless the coworker happens to be the best you'll ever get, you could get the same reward (a companion) elsewhere without extra risk (getting in trouble at work and/or having to see that person every day if things go sour.)

Back when I had a social life I never had any issues fitting in because I didn't drink. In fact I usually had the oposite effect on people in that they would stop drinking as much when they hanged out with me.

This is mainly because of my policy that "if you need to be drunk to enjoy it then you really don't enjoy it at all" when it comes to what activities to do when I was out with friends.

Having a drink at a bar while having a good conversation or dancing is very different from requiring alcohol just to stomach being at a bar or dancing. Same for any other activity you do with other people.


PS > Karaoke was my favorite, it was always major fun.

Too bad there are no game centers in Mexico, I would spend quite sometime at those.

Well Jarre, those videos certainly are eye opening. Thanks for sharing...I think! lol I will say that I'm impressed with the CCTV and police response time in that top video. But I guess with things as bad as they are there, they've just gotten quite good at their jobs because of it. I seriously got nauseous and gagged a few times watching that binge drinking video. Even in my hey day I could not have drank like THAT! I'm such a lightweight now that one glass of wine, drank too quickly, will give me the damn bed spins. lol
