It is indeed. I visited a nearby humidor some time back with a friend, and after a few minutes I was completely confused by the distinctions between the various cigars. Cigarettes have dozens of different varieties and flavors as well.
Light and Ultra Light are, what, gold and silver now, I think? And all cigarettes that were previously marked with one of those markers had a big message on the side of the box that said it had nothing to do with less cancer causing agents, but rather flavor.
I used to smoke Camel Number 9s, because they were similar in flavor (ie: not much flavor) to Marlboro Ultra-Lights, but cheaper, but I always got shit from the person at the counter, because they came in a black and pink box. I didn't design the packaging, shop-clerk! It's not like I was smoking 100s or slim cigarettes.
