        Depends on the geek I guess. Different geeks have different standards.

          Add to it they need the ability to access information for me while I'm talking to them.

          And being able to run games and surf the net while also being able to play blu-ray movies and torrent Anime. All while allowing me to access forums and displaying all the information directly to display of my choice or give me the info through speech.

          */gasp!*

          ZOMG!! I want to date my computer!!!! All Chobits like!!! /shock

                    Re: AMD's guide for girls to getting a geek

                    Do geek even exist? I don't think i ever met a geek in my life. Maybe i am one?

                    I do play a lot games (especially MMORPG) but i am not achiever (beat it and throw it to the fire, never brother achievement).

                    I do watch anime, but i never keep them nor own anything anime related.

                    I am smart! (high 90s in everything in school even gym, but i play a lot sport (mostly winter) like regional ice hockey tourney, ski a lot)

                    I am into computers, i have several of them, i got internet on 1995 and many computer since then. However, even today, i can't built a computer, i know computer terms but never understand their functions, i can do simple programing and basic knowledge and never interest to further. I can use stuff like 3d studio max and maya in high school when these program were new and not too common.

                    but I got suspended by my high school for fighting @least 10 time range from 2-10 days, 2-3 times per grade a year. No one dare to bully me. (I am a great student otherwise, high grades and all) But i dyed my hair different colours since grade 9, and i finished university. (not on comp sci sadly even i got accept by one of best university in ontario that consider having best math and comp sci reputation with scholarship)

                    So what really classify one as a geek? I have met smarter people but they don't have anything can be label as "geek".

                      To be a geek, you don't have to be super smart about everything. Geeks are those who are into D&D, video games, anime, computers and so on. Not all are into those things, there are just D&D geek, computer geeks, anime freaks (as I liek to call them as they freak me out, even though I am into anime, but not like them.), and so on.

                        Anime-otaku wannabe works too.

                        That would be me btw.

                          I like Otaku, sound fine, the problem is isn't geek > Otaku?

                          I mean when did you ever hear those Otaku have successful stories, but you heard a lot geeks does.

                              Plenty of times. Densha Otoko, that one guy that made a killing because of a really stupid stock market error (something like 1,000,000 shares at $1, instead of 1 share at $1,000,000)
