Was Jupiter the tiny-biggest star in the sky that night? The one that looked like every other star? I was more enchanted by the full moon while driving down country-side. Damn bright too, thought it was turning dawn for a second.

So much for the every-12-year-visit, Jupiter. You sucked. >:|

Jupiter is for real boring looking from downtown. It's the only light in the sky besides the moon. Stupid light pollution. I would drive out into the country, but...effort.

There's usually a time right after dusk that's really good for stargazing in more urban areas. Not sure when it is for where you are but here it's around 9:00. Right after it gets dark but before all the street lights come on. You might try then rather than late at night.

I looked up last night, it was still rather visible, but the AP story Sunday said it would last through Tuesday evening. Monday and Tuesday it was to the left of the movie, last night it was to the right of it.

There's usually a time right after dusk that's really good for stargazing in more urban areas. Not sure when it is for where you are but here it's around 9:00. Right after it gets dark but before all the street lights come on. You might try then rather than late at night.

I live downtown. Like, surrounded by skyscrapers downtown. There are never not lights on. I'd have to drive at least 30-60 minutes away to see any real stars. Though in the suburbs I can usually see the bigger constellations. Or when the moon isn't full.
