    And martial arts entirely.

I stand by the opinion that the movie should have stayed named The Kung-Fu Kid as originally planned, and that deciding to just call it The Karate Kid anyway is little more than franchise milking. It's not even a complaint about whatever differences there are between the arts themselves so much as it's like they aren't trying to even sound original any more.

That's really my biggest complaint about the movie, though. Absolutely no reason to not go with Kung-Fu Kid - it even sounds cool.

Anyways, so me and my mom were having a discussion about the Karate Kid trailer. I was telling her that Jaden wasn't old enough to play Karate Kid, and the majority of the kids were around his age or slightly older. When Ralph Macchio played Daniel, he was about 24...I know he looked 17, but he was a babyface actor lol. When Hillary Swank played in The Next Karate Kid, she was 20. Both of them are 9+ years older than Jaden who is 11. So if they were gonna do it right they should've gotten somebody older at least.
Maybe they decided to actually use a kid this time, lol.

I don't think they learned Kung Fu in the originals. I think it was Karate. I could be wrong though. I haven't seen those movies since I was about Jayden's age XD

Which is probably why the new movie was originally going to be called "The Kung Fu Kid", but they changed it before release.

He does. But he's a black kid.. So it's ghetto.

They should have put that at the beginning of the title in this one to let everyone know off the bat a black kid stars as the role.

Interesting fact, well to me, The Karate Kid was the very first movie I saw in a theatre. My parents did not spend money on things like that.
