Hmm. Today I successfully did not beat the shit out of my roommates for ruining my toaster by cooking something with cheese in it, thus leaving a pool of gross semi-melted cheese in the slots where I'd put my bread, thus rendering it a fire hazard and completely not useful.
And believe me, that is an accomplishment because I was about to throw the toaster at one of their heads. Who the fuck puts anything with cheese in a goddamn toaster? But I suppose that's a post for the pet peeves thread. Though I'm feeling more accomplished for not killing anyone than peeved at this point.
Summer will be fun, even if I am working at/for school. Doing accounting work and helping with the school audit for the second time. If it's anything close to what it was like last year, it's going to be awesome.
I finally figured out how to properly wipe IIS off our server so the reinstall would actually reset the sites and application pools instead of just resurrecting the corpses of the configuration that didn't work and was fouled up beyond all redemption.
Yeah, I can't live without cheese either. I have cut back on the soda (that was seriously killing me) and I've cut back on junk - like chips and pizza - but I can't completely cut the foods/drinks I love out of my diet. I figure if I cut back on those and I get off my ass a bit more, I can manage without really giving anything up completely.
Except the extra weight, of course.
What the fuck is up with this forum. It's using HTML tags for line breaks - and without those, the line breaks don't show ... and none of the formatting tools work.
I'm still bad with snacking at work. I really need to stop buying chocolate covered things. Those are KILLER. Just finished eating like 15 chocolate covered almonds. :/
Also need to get better at making my own dinners more often. The problem is, as a single guy who's fairly busy outside of work, many times I don't have the time it takes to make a nice healthy dinner. So I buy fast food or make a frozen pizza...
I've basically set up a system. I have ten allotments per week. 2 fast food, 2 "high sugar" (something like Crunch Berries cereal, lol), 2 dessert, 1 pizza, etc. And per day, I allow myself up to 36 oz of soda. (Considering six months ago I was drinking nearly a six pack a day, this is a significant improvement.) And typically, I only get to 24 oz of that, or two cans. I also wear a pedometer and write down my steps taken per day, and attempt to hit at least 10k every day.
Stupid shit, like parking out in the garage instead of right up front. It adds up. And I have been losing, without cutting out everything I love. I just limit it.
Granted, if I could cut some of that shit out entirely, I'd lose a lot more, but I've made significant enough progress that I feel like I can continue this way and I won't suddenly crash and gain it all back.
I found an affordable apartment and my credit was approved. Not that I was worried about that last part, but finding apartments has been a bitch and a half. Now I've got a place set in stone so I can gtfo of this place in two months.
Whelp, boss and a bunch of the other department heads along with a bunch of others who still work here are retiring. I is scared.
