It's several years overdue and still isn't as much as I ought to be making in this line of work, but a 9k increase in salary all in one go still feels pretty good.
Just got back from a job interview that I was actually qualified and experienced enough for so I didn't have to lie like a bitch through the whole thing. There were a lot of other applicants but hopefully I should hear back by Monday.

9k is still nothing to scoff at. Considering you don't drive and you walk to work... 9k is pretty substantial. I spend more than that on gas in a year.

In related news: I decided to send out my resume to a number of different places to try my hand at securing a part time job for the weekends to replace the airport when I inevitably let go of it. Mind you, I haven't applied for a job in over 10 years... so I was a bit rusty... but I must have done something right.
I sent out 6 applications between the hours of 4:30am - 6:00am while sitting at my desk at work. By 8:30am I had received the following 4 phone calls:
Tufts University: Dispatch/Operations ($4.50 more/hour than what I make here)
"We would love to have you on our staff! When can you start? You can only work weekends? That should be fine, we'll work it out"
New Bridge (Harvard Affiliate): Security Ops/Dispatch Control: ($6.00 more/hour than what I make here)
"We're impressed by your resume, when are you available for an interview?"
Jet Blue: Operations (just about the same as what I make here)
"You worked for US Airways for 6 years? And you want to come here? Absolutely! We'll work with whatever schedule you need."
Southwest Airlines: Operations (also about the same)
"Are you available for an interview on Monday. I'd like to discuss starting you into training right away if you're interested. We've employed Union Ironworkers before, so we know the drill. Your Apprenticeship Coordinator speaks highly of you."
I'm currently preparing my "Going Away" speech for tomorrow... when, if I get called to the new job in Allston for Iron, I'll end up being terminated for attendance here at USAir. It goes a little something like this:
I got (what I believe to be) a legit Keldeo off a trade. Don't know if I'd use it since I have something of an aversion to putting legendaries on my teams, even if there's really nothing barring me from doing so. Keldeo isn't even an "Uber". But I mean...he's Rainbow Pony d'Artagnan for crying out loud!
