Why do people find boils so fascinating? That girl should have been wearing gloves. I know she probably didn't have the option to purchase a single pair because they usually sell them in multiples, but she needed them. She could have asked the pharmacist for a pair. I'm sure after he knew what they were for he would have gladly given her a pair! Usually the bacteria that is in one is harmless but you really shouldn't take the chance. I've done several and one that I thought was one but was a cyst. That one was on my husbands stump. He is an amputee and he had an extremely tender lump on the upper inside of his thigh. Unfortunately since it was on his stump I had to do something or he could not wear his prosthetic. He was too cheap to go to the doctor, though I begged him to. Once I had cut it open, there was very little drainage which is unusual for a boil. Then I ran into a solid mass. I was just going to put in a couple stitches and take him to the hospital but he vehemently refused. I ended up taking out a sizable cyst along with some muscle tissue. The entire chunk looked like a piece of raw steak.....the cyst was like a shredded cotton ball.

I remember watching this a while ago. Apparently afterwards (at the end whre it cuts off) they went to the doctor and found out the guy caught a worm. When I first saw it, it kept getting taken down due to something about how it's inappropriate material and eventually they updated the info and said how they found something long and stringy.
But yeah gross.

I've seen a few in my time nursing I've been doing it since I was 19.
Thing is even when you think you've seen it all every now and then something pops up and leaves you thinking "wtf?"
What I find even scarier is I've got around 30/40 years left in my career so what the heck is waiting for me.
