I was up at 4:00am to make it to Kmart to get the PSP Assassin's Creed bundle pack + Assassin's Creed 2 for $199.99.

Did some online shopping this year. Was going to pick up 2 1TB Hard Drives from Newegg.com, but I realized the same hard drives were $15 cheaper at tigerdirect.com so I got them from there. Also picked up 9 Blu-Rays from best buy, total cost was just under $100. There were a few more I wanted at Amazon.com but I decided to pass up on it. My mom wanted this karaoke machine that they were selling at Sears and since they didn't list how many they had in the store, she didn't want to wait in line. Found the same deal online at sears.com

I did most of my shopping before and got a few refunds rather than wait inline all night long.

Also... There was a riot here by Toys R Us. A group of people tried to line jump the people who waited in line for hours and started a huge riot.

Wow, at Toys R Us. I would've expected that from Wal-Mart. They were saying that wal-mart increased security so less people would get hurt this year but looks like Toys R Us might have to take on extras as well. Wasn't that last year when the guy got killed at wal-mart by the mob rush?

I don't doubt it. People are idiots and crazy. I'd rather risk a little extra money and be safe than risk my life trying to get a few extra dollaors off something.

The security at Toys R Us where I am at sucks. They had 1 officer last year, but he got shot while he was in a bank. (Hes fine though now), but he didn't go into Toys R Us this year so there where no cops there.

Okay sure, I suppose it would be hard to pin down any single person but come on, there's just no excuse for that. No sale is worth a person's life.


Also, being Canadian I have to wait for Boxing day which I maintain is still worse than Black Friday. At least you guys have your big sale day before Christmas. Ours is the next freaking day > _ <

We have a quite a few sales after christmas as well. I usually staqrt shopping for stuff that I didn't get that I wanted after christmass XD

I decided instead of camping out this year I would just wake up early and head out to Fry's with a friend. Got myself a new 22" monitor for $99 and a 2 TB hard drive for $130.

I also bought the Age of Conan Collector's Edition for 6 dollars. Yeah, that $90 collector's edition. 6 bucks. I don't even care about the game or know anything about it, but the amount of paper they used in the art book is probably worth more than what I paid for the entire thing.

I didn't do too much Black Friday shopping this year. I wasn't going to go at all since most of my shopping is done but I saw a couple of things I wanted for myself. I treated myself to some of my pricey perfume and got a couple of freebies with it. I also splurged and bought a very nicely priced makeup set, $350 worth of makeup for $55. Then I went and paid 56 cents for 4 very nice, large bath towels with the free money coupon that was in the paper for that particular store. I tried to get a pair of cozy pj's that were on sale at one store but they sold out of my size. I hate being an average size sometimes! Since there are so many people the same size, crap sells out so dang fast!

I stopped at Best Buy and endured LIVING HELL! Getting in the parking lot was an ordeal, finding a parking spot was another (even with a handicapped sticker), and getting at the goods was insane with everyone being so rude! I thought it was over once I had the Blu-ray movies in my hands, until I saw the check out lines!! They had a blockade set up that was like a maze and we were all the rats in it. When I finally got out of there, that was it for me! I was wore out!

LOL and you laughed at me for talking about the 1 time I went Black Friday shopping. Least you were brave enough to actually go inside though.

Teh horrors of Best Buy in 2006:

I got stuck in traffic coming in, and after sitting in the parking lot for like 5 mins I started to panic since there was nowhere to park or turn (because people had made their on spaces, mainly because we had gotten a big snow a few days before and there was some still on the ground.). Soon, I was at the front of the line and nobody would let me turn either way, and eventually I said "Screw it! I'm leaving" but I couldn't turn that way either ;_;. After sitting there for awhile, this lady jumped out of her car and asked me where I was going, I told her that I came to shop, but after seeing the hell there I was ready to leave. The lady said she'd stop traffic for me so I could turn and get out of there! I was so happy lol!!!

LOL Oh ya I can relate to that! I've endured MANY Black Friday events through the years and had a year similar to that at Best Buy once. Damn huge snow and the parking lot at the one nearest us is VERY small considering the amount of business they do, especially on that day! Add the snow and it was HORRIBLE! People eventually just stopped their cars in the middle of the aisles, got out and went in to shop. No one was getting in and no one was leaving. I got there really early and got a spot just fine but when it came time to leave, I was going nowhere fast. Eventually the police had to come and they closed down the checkouts until the parking lot got sorted out. I was there from 4 am (opened at 5) and didn't leave until after noon. /sigh

I drove not too far from home to the local Gamestop to exchange my copy of KH II for one that wasn't scratched up all to hell and back. That was only within a mile of the nearest mall and it wasn't too much trouble. I didn't dare to go further, though, because I know if I did go near the mall I'd never get back out.

I didn't even go to the movies this weekend because its next to a Wal-Mart and both were clogged up. I'll go see Princess and the Frog Tuesday, let the whole holiday period blow over.

I really wish they'd change it. You people are lucky to have Black Friday. The day after thanksgiving isn't so bad. The day after Christmas = cluster fuck from Hell. Not to mention it really pisses people off to buy gifts for people only to have everything they just paid for marked down as much as 50% the next fucking day.

Sweetie, I don't know what Black Friday you've attended but people die during it here. People get trampled, freeze to death, have heart attacks....I was trampled in the Cabbage Patch Christmas but survived when 2 men scooped me up and took me off to the side. And the day after Christmas is horrendous here too, not quite as bad as Black Friday but its not a day for the faint of heart. I remember one after Christmas sale where a woman slammed her cart into mine repeatedly and broke 3 of my fingers in the process.

Off the top of my head I remember Furbies, Tickle Me Elmo, Teletubbies, and I think the year of the original Playstation would be appropriate too.

This year I think it may be the Zhu Zhu Pet Hamsters.
