20 Photos Of Unusual Japanese Itasha Trend | Wonderful Weird Things

Itasha is a trend to decorate car bodies with fictional characters of anime, manga, or video games. These characters are predominately “cute” female. The decorations usually involve paint schemes and stickers. Automobiles are called Itasha, while similar motorcycles and bicycles are called itansha and itachari respectively.

Ya. um, ok then. I'm going to just shake my head over here. I like anime too, but I don't feel the need to cake everything I have in it.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

Just what the world needs, Decepti-ComicCons.

The cars are actually pretty cool though...The Jet is just scary.

          Re: um, Itasha.

Cars are hardly news to me. Planes, while not new (I've seen one covered in Pokemon before), still just plain take the cake.

I mean, just the paint jobs I can understand. It's art, like a tattoo, except not on your body. But it's taking it a bit far when you're accessorizing the car beyond the paint job, like having an entire row of Cirno plushies on the dashboard of the Touhou car.

It makes me wonder if anybody actually drives these things.

The cars with a bunch of items related and matching interior decoration are pretty meh. But the paint jobs on those cars are awesome.

PS > Personally I wouldn't go beyond adding lines resembling those of Battloid painting on a car, but that's just me.

I had a black Firebird with no badges, blacked out windows, and black rims. I wanted to get Sephiroth painted on the hood and front quarter panels so badly!! I had it all figured out with a guy I know that does bikes. Then the shit hit the fan in my life and that was the end of that project. He drew me a picture of my car with the painting on it for my birthday since he knew I was heartbroken.

Can you take a picture of it or scan and post it? Sounds like it was epic.

You have to keep in mind, BBQ. We're old.

It's actually over ten years old now; even North America got it nearly ten years ago.

Plus, if you're going to do this, it's gotta be moe.
