    Guess I should be thankfull I survived those savage and dangerous days.

      Are there even any left? I think there's still Toys R Us around here but pretty sure K-B Toys went under, and I think the Chicago FAO Schwarz is gone too, Wal-Targets and the internet has done away with most of them.

        Heh... The Toys R Us thats near me is going under now.

        Walmart, and Target are teh two main places that still are actually "Toy Stores". Toys R Us, is just trying to get by the way it is now, but Wal Mart, and Target are putting it under, and starting to steal its bussiness.

        I remember when K-B toys was in the mall near me. I miss that place XD I used to go in there all the time when I went to the mall when I was younger. XD

        But now all teh Video-game, and "big" stores have taken over the Toy stores.

          Those star wars toys are cool i want them even though i'm not much of a fan D:

          I find toys aimed for boys are great! Where as toys for girls are getting worse. Yay Brats dolls showing that our lil girls should grow up to be lil teenage sluts :D

          If I ever have a lil girl and she asks for one or something similar I'ma slap her silly and give her a box of lego or something.

            ...touche

            Though yea, I meant Toys R Us and things like Wal-Mart and Target's toy aisles. Anyone who actually knows toys can tell you that what we get today is far better then things we got back then...for the most part.

            Edit: Toys R Us actually owns the FAO Schwarz brand now, so while it's no longer it's own company, the name is still going to stick around. But Wal-marts and Targets have really killed all sorts of specialty shops in general.

              For Feba;

              Seriously though that's a pretty cool toy and I'd get it for my kids (depending on how expensive it is) but not because it's a cool toy;

              It's because to play with it you have to focus, which lord knows a lot of kids have trouble doing that in school these days. This thing actually has potential educational value O.O

                Re: All of our childhoods now suck.

                Kids always have had trouble focusing in schools. Why? Because school is boring. How can parents say their kids can't focus on one hand then complain they're spending too much time with video games? (p.s. they require focus)

                It's a neat little toy, and it'd be fun to try out, but not something worth buying because it has absolutely no play value. "Moving" a ball up and down with your mind (aka a fan that's turned on when you "think" hard) can only be entertaining for so long. =(

                  Re: All of our childhoods now suck.

                  It's the same situation as with most social gatherings, and the solution will probably be the same.

                  Add alcohol and/or get high.

                  Now, I don't drink or do drugs, so I'd rather spend that money buying other stuff.

                  PS > Now that I think about it it's gonna be interesting to see the lawsuits when kids start passing out/dying because they are thinking too hard to play with this toy.

                    Re: All of our childhoods now suck.

                    Goddamn that's cool.

                    Who remembers the original Power Ranger Megazord + Green Ranger Dragon + Brachiosaur tank? You could kill someone with how heavy those were. Also, Stretch Armstrong.

                    I have to say that's pretty bitchin'.
                    I can't watch this video, but most of the toys I see these days suck ass compared to what I had, minus maybe the Nerf sniper rifle.
                    Nerf guns are super sweet if you modify them. I went to Toys 'R' Us, bought me a Nite Finder for like $10 and modified it with this guide, plus some thick rubber bands, more than doubled its range. I never did get around to making my own heavier darts though.

                    Also boomerangs, those are ALWAYS fun.

                      They don't focus in school because parents don't teach their precious little snowflakes to sit down, shut up and listen. They have no problem focusing. They have, however, learned that all they have to do is act like a spoilt little brat and they won't have to do anything they don't have to.

                        Re: All of our childhoods now suck.

                        The original Megazord is still, and by far, the greatest Megazord in all of Power Ranger's history. Everything that's come out since is full of gimmicks and sounds and lacks the sheer awesomeness of the originals.

                        In the end, the only toys that really suffer nowadays are larger toys and playsets. Things like the Ultrazord or the U.S.S. Flagg or Fortress Maximus can't be released in toy stores today. If things can't pass the right safety tests they never get made, and huge toys and playsets like that always fail the drop tests. The best we can get nowadays are things like the Transforming Batmobile city or the "Supreme" movie Devastator or the upcoming G.I. Joe Pitt, which are cool in their own right, but not as cool as the stuff from the 80s/90s.

                          There's a Toys R Us within walking distance of my current residence. This one has particular significance to me as it was the same one that I was brought to a couple of times as a child. Newfangled stuff aside, you can tell that it is very much the same place, right down to the little stairway right beside the entrance.

                          Anyway, the force thing is pretty cool.

                            As awesome as toys were back then (oh the hours I spent playing with just legos...), really can anything top this:
