Today marks the final broadcast of analog TV signals in the U.S Its amazing how bored you can get at work that you read the news of various agencies for an hour)
It is interesting that the US are doing a whole nation switch over. here in the Uk between now and 2011 we are transfering region by region, my region is september next year it switches over. I have digital TV, but its just like normal tv, lots of channels of crap and nothign worth watching. But until October 2002 in the UK when freeview digital tv was launched unless you had NTL cable TV or SKy satelite TV (which still only 60% of the country actually do have or can get) You had 5 TV channels to choose from. freeview gave you another 32 channels but that was it.
I know their will be a few members here who remember the golden age of television whre their wern';t thousands of channels of repeats and drivel but some classic shows on, now what this new milestone will herald for the future of tv, now in ehavy competition with Video on demand services and the internet we can only wait and see.....
