Damned Celebrity Fetish... this is all we're gonna hear about in the news for the next few days. When George Carlin died not that long ago you didn't here a whole lot about it beyond the first night, which was OK. The guy was a legend IMO but he got his final respects in a timely fashion.

But I any time one something happens to one of these mega stars (and I'm not without sympathy here; it totally sucks she died. I doubt Mont Tremblant is gonna recover from this any time soon either business wise) the media goes into a feeding frenzy and it's all anyone talks about.

My condolences to her family, but Western Society really needs to get over the celebrity fetish. It's not healthy and a lot of these people really shouldn't be idolized like they are (and I don't just mean movie stars. Fuck Athletes)

I agree here. We should give our prayers, pay our respects, wish the family of the deceased well, and move on. That's what would any average human being would want, after all...not have their death blabbered on and on about.
