Why do people spell the word "loses", "looses". Loose is the opposite of tight. Lose is the opposite of win.

I was reading the "official" rules of the SFIV tournament. I found this and it is just sad.

To compete in Round 1 of the Tournament, visit one of 2,419 participating GameStop locations on or before Saturday, February 21, 2009. The tournament will be capped at sixty four (64) Contestants for the first round per location. If more than sixty four (64) Contestants show up to compete at a particular location, only the first sixty four (64) Contestants will be allowed to compete. To obtain the address for a particular Tournament location, visit Gamestop.com - Street Fighter IV. It is each Contestant’s sole responsibility to confirm what time the Tournament will commence at a specific location. All Contestants must register to compete with the onsite GTD at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of Tournament. Contestants who are not registered at least thirty (30) minutes prior to play may be eliminated from the Tournament in the GTD’s sole discretion. On the day of Round 1, complete an official sign up sheet if you have not registered prior to the Tournament date. Or, if you are a minor (defined as 19 years of age or younger in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 or younger in Mississippi or 18 or younger in the rest of the United States and the District of Columbia), a parent or legal guardian will be required to sign the official sign up sheet. After registering to compete, the GTD will call your name when it is your time to compete in Round 1. When your name is called, you will be given one (1) opportunity to compete against another Contestant at that location. Each Round 1 Contestant will be paired with another Round 1 Contestant in the best of five (5) 99 second matches. A contestant is eliminated when s/he looses three (3) of the matches. The winner of each Round 1 match will then compete against another Round 1 Contestant until two (2) Contestants remain. The two contestants will match off and a winner will be determined. The winner and the runner up will have the opportunity to compete in Round 2 of the Tournament.

I hope they fixed Chunny, but I've pretty much settled on being a Guile or Ken player.

Yeah, this happens a lot lately. I blame general laziness. For instance, Utah Masonry held it's Grand Lodge Communication last week, in which the Grand Lecturer gave his report on various ritual work. This is a 200 year old tradition in the state, the wording really hasn't changed more than one or two times since then. But it's an oral tradition, meaning we have none of this written down. So if the guy telling you what the words are as you memorize blows it, it stays screwed up until someone corrects you. Here's an example of one of our common flubs:

Imbrue - to drench in or with something that stains, especially blood.
Imbue - to impregnate or inspire with feelings, opinions, etc.

Forget one letter and the whole mess goes 180 degrees, doesn't it? I won't go into the exact context of the stuff, but let's just say this is hilarious if you understand both meanings. "I'm going to inspire you... WITH DEATH!!! MWAHAHA!!"

If you set three games free and let them run wild, then you're out. I actually had a conversation about this with a friend last week. Had a friend I worked with who was working on a masters in molecular biology and her professor spent a week on stuff like this.

Pheba and OGMFTLBBQKITEM both made me laugh. I actually sent them an email about the rules. I received a generic response from one of their CSR's.

I make no claim that I am some scholar of spelling but I do try to make sure that I try not look two stupid. Get it, two stupid..... Gamstop ftw.

I've found so many broken links on Gamestupids website back in the day and sent them emails over it. They would send some generic "thank you for the email" reply and then about a week later another more specific but generic "thank you for alerting us to this issue". I'd go back after the 2nd email the the broken link would still be there. Hell it was still there weeks later. How can you sell an item on your website but have a broken link when you try to add it to your cart. Idiots.
