I used to pull the wings off a fly and then tie a string around its neck and keep it as a pet. Same with grasshoppers. I hope to teach these joys to my grandsons since their mother hardly even takes them outside. For pete's sake, the 2 yr old was afraid of GRASS when he moved in here!

I liked to throw rocks at grasshoppers but that pales (or is it pails? w/e) in comparison to what a friend of a friend of mine used to do.

He would gather up daddy long legs and pull off each of their legs 1 by 1 and then stick them all in a jar together... that's pretty fucked up IMO.


Though 1 time I did manage to catch a fly in a clear little box (came with some kinda science kit thing I had when I was a kid) which I then proceeded to microwave while it could still breath. Was f'ing AWESOME it exploded >.>


Friend of mine used to roast ants not with a magnifying lens but with a tanning sheet (you know, those metal fans that fold up) poor little bastards would explode with a loud popping noise.


The shitty thing is torturing bugs loses a lot of it's appeal when you realize they can't actually feel pain since they're essential a bundle of nerves inside a hard shell and don't really have a brain.


EDIT: God damn it, reading that chicken comment made me want to post a clip from an episode of Bromwell High but no one's uploaded the Albanian Chicken Nuggets episode on to youtube. Most of you probably have no idea what that show even is since it's a Canadian original (and was f'ing hilarious if extremely offensive)

Ya well mine was from back in the day when we didn't have cable tv, our video game was Pong, weren't allowed to plunk down in front of the tv for hours, and your parents pushed you out the door after breakfast and said "don't come back until noon" and meant it.

I always loved using magnifying glasses to burn things

I did that alot on some ants round our home and then got the idea to fill a zip-lock with the little suckers (bulldog ants: we had two hills) and toss em on the bonfire.... their guts heat up and boil and it's forced out their shells before the chitin incincinerates... so, much like a tea kettle, you get this really eery and tiny screaming effect. Like thousands of tiny screams.....

Needless to say that was actually the last time I tortured ants.

That is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. If you haven't visited the propaganda pages on People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA): The animal rights organization for the Sea Kittens yet, I really recommend it.

I'm thinking of making some sea kitten right now! Hopefully the Tilapia I'm about to cook has a degree in neuroscience and environmental studies just like Tony the Trout! No wonder they call it brain food!

They also mention in the website (as a scare tactic) is the fish you eat is o'erladen with high levels of mercury and will make you retarded.

PETA exaggerates the effects and rarity of mercury related incidents and I wouldn't put it past them to fabricate horror stories to scare vegan girls into staying on their unhealthy diets.

Veganism is unnatural and is generally not good for you. It's also not possible to be vegan without using fossil fuels to obtain exotic beans that provide essential amino acids that are not commonly found in vegetables. Even Hindu people (who are probably the oldest vegetarian population on the planet) eat animal products because if you don't, you eventually die because your body cannot produce key proteins it requires to live. Vegetarian and semi-vegetarian diets can be very healthy for you but Veganism is generally quite the opposite.

Yeah, you guys need to visit that site and read the crazy stories those nutsos came up with, about the fishes who had all their fish-friends get caught and went *ahem* "Mad with hate" -I quote.

The other story of the fish who had a college degree, was eaten, and the boy who ate him karmically gained failing grades was hilarious!

I'm all for animal rights, but those people are truly mental.
