    Well I'm an idiot - Wii!

    I just looked at the Wii's virtual console offerings. I have really no other reason to want a Wii, but now I have to have one.

    Well, that and Ghostbusters is going to be coming out for the Wii as well, but that's more for the wife.

    It plays Game Cube games too doesn't it?
    I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

      Yes, it plays Game Cube games. I don't think it has any compatibility issues besides maybe some GameCube peripherals(?) - it'll even play the Cube's Action Replay.

      Me, I'm looking forward to playing Tatsunoko VS Capcom. Wonder if my friend finished downloading it yet.

        Just a guess, but if you're thinking about gamecube functionality for Metroid Prime, hold off on buying it for a bit. Nintendo is doing a Play On Wii series of gamecube games, rereleased with graphical, technical, and control improvements.

        Also, you might have seen this before, but BUY NO MORE HEROES. Down to $20, and totally worth it.

            Actually no, I was just verifying because I can't really find a Wii game that raises any interest in me right now. I figured I might be able to find some GC games so I could play games newer then 15 years old on it.

              No, my Jealousy is higher than yours. I officially hate your friend, and, by extension, you, for posting about Gothic Gauntlets. I've been farming in Xarcabard for somewhere between 4-5 hours, have seen about 9 brown chests and I've only been able to open 4 of them. No gauntlets.

              Anyways...you don't necessarily need a mod chip. Google "homebrew channel."

              Really? That's hot, at least for Metroid Prime 1. Any idea which other games are getting released in that series? I'm too lazy to research it.

                NOJ just released some Donkey Kong game. They're releasing Pikmin next from what I can tell. Apparently has upgrades to the save system. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are being released on it sooner or later.

                Mhurron: Ah, was a shot in the dark anyway. You're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't get NMH, though. For that matter, if you didn't already play Okami on PS2, that too.

                  Wii + All the RE games + Umbrella Chronicles = massive win.

                  The question is, are RE games included in those that will get the upgrades Feba(r)? (edit > Or is that only for Nintendo titles?)

                    Play on Wii is a nintendo thing; BUT Capcom ported RE0 to Wii in Japan. Was almost completely pointless, iirc, but if you're interested you could always send a letter to Capcom USA saying 'LOCALIZE PRZ'. Might be working on porting the later ones too, I can't remember.

                    You can play RE0, RE, RE2, RE3 using gamecube copies on Wii, of course; and RE4Wii is simply great. And as you mentioned, there's Umbrella chronicles. Which I believe makes that the entire storyline *cough* of the Resident Evil series, playable on Wii

                      Are Wii games region-coded? Because I can get a good deal on a Wii here, but would have to order all the games from Amazon (and importing the hardware now that the US dollar is slighty higher would hurt) along with a new copy of FFVIII

                        yes, although apparently you can get around region codes with the homebrew channel. Honestly, I'd recommend waiting until after the holidays anyway. IIRC there's not a lot coming out until early 09 anyway,

                          Yeah, I would probably order them till Feb. or something. Gonna look for some info about regions in the mean time.

                            I'm on a personal boycott of the Virtual Console until Nintendo puts Super Mario Kart on that list.

                              Well, checking on all the info I could it appears MX is in the same "region" as the US and Canada so there wont be any limitations for me there.

                              Just need to find a way to get JP games like Tatsunoko VS Capcom when the time comes.
