Here is a list of Circuit City stores that are closing. Keep your eye out on them, you might be able to get some liquidation style deals.

The only one on there around me is a 45 min to an hour drive away. No trip there today thats for sure because I have a family gathering to go to......that I'd rather not. /sigh

Digging up my thread, looks like Circuit City might start liquidating week after next if they don't get a buyer on board. Clock ticking for Circuit City's survival - Jan. 9, 2009 at one time there was talk that Best Buy would take over some of the stores and keep them open. However now, they're crying that their sales are down 6.9% from 2007 so they might not even be interested now. So if they start liquidating, I'll be taking the first day of it off to melee with everybody and buy stuff for cheap. Especially saying if they last til early February when I'll have my income tax return.

Just check that the deals really ARE deals ... there are companies that specialize in these sorts of sell-offs, and they tend to jack up the prices so they can discount them without really improving the price.

That is true, I'd mainly be looking at Blu-Rays and probably Games.

Update: Went in CC today, they had 40% off of almost everything in the store. They had quite a few 360 and PS3 games left and also a few DS games. Nintendo Wii and PS2 games were all gone. Ours has a sign up that says 9 Days Left....

CC here is advertising up to 50-70% off, most I saw was 40% though. The stuff was still overpriced even after the discount and there was nothing worth buying left.

Idiots went in and bought everything decent when they were just having 10% off.

Only thing i saw that was 50% off in my store was the Car Audio/Electronics and they had nothing worth even looking at. I bought a capacitor marked 200 for 100 that was about hte only good thing left over there lol. Gonna run tests on it probably tomorrow, since it'll be 40+ Degrees for the first time in awhile.
