There Are No Words....

Against my better judgement I went and saw the movie since there was nothing really out this weekend, and yeah it was horrible. This was compared to the first movie which I loved and believe me I love all Marvel movies, but this one failed miserably to the point that Marvel didn't put their logo on the movie, they put their Dark brand logo Marvel: Knights (Marvel Knights Wiki) on the movie instead. There were so many unnatural F-bombs in the movie that it made Scarface look like a Disney movie. The main thing that pissed me off was that they changed the story of how his family died from the first movie.

Family Death Spoiler Both Movies

In the first movie they died from a revenge hit placed on Frank's whole family when they were overseas at a family reunion. This was caused by Frank getting Howard Saint's son killed. In the new movie Frank not only had a wife and son, but a daughter as well. They were killed by a mob hit while they were together on a picnic, because his family witnessed a mob hit.

There were also many gruesome kills that were committed by the Punisher in the new movie to the point where it was utterly rediculous.

Scene that gave me many LOL's Read at Own Risk

These guys were doing somersaults across rooftops. The Punisher shot one of them with a rocket while he was in midair, blowing him to smitherines. Then immediately sniped the other guy with a headshot.

Movie made 4 Million over the weekend and the budget was 35 Million, nuff said.

Unfortunately Ebert and Roper weren't availiable for comment so The Octopus (The Spirit) gave it 8 Thumbs down.

Just a little-known fact: the origin(the death of Frank's family) told in the second movie is the canonical origin as told in the "The Punisher" comic book.

But yes, knowing that they created such an inconsistency bothers me.

Though, the moment I saw that Thomas Jane wasn't reprising his role, I suspected that this movie would be a significant departure from the first, which was decidedly more clean than the Punisher mythos would suggest. The lack of big billing for this movie made me wonder whether it was worth seeing.

I might catch the matinee this weekend, but I'm in no hurry.

Didn't know that though, I'm sure it was probably better in the comic than it was in the movie.

Noooooo, wait and rent it on DVD, it'll be out by the end of next week. At least on the DVD version you'll be able to rewind and rewatch the scenes that were funny.

I've never seen that version (1989), but my brother was telling me that he heard that there was one out before Punisher (2004) so I looked it up (Picture shown above). We're talking about the 3rd movie that just came out.

So I don't really see how you can top that.

This is supposedly the most violent movie ever, and for that I might go see it.

But the guy looks nothing like Frank Castle and the original movie is still the best.
