Actually surprised they announced it so soon. Last I heard there wouldn't be anything official until after Thanksgiving.

I don't hate her, I was ust greatly disapproved of her conduct in the primaries. And the "official" announcement will be made after TG, but it's basically a done deal. I don't even know why they're denying it >_>


Same goes for the new Treasury Sec, Timothy Geithner. It also seems pretty likely than Gates will stay on as the Defense Sec, though Obama has named Jason Jones as an adviser. And you're gonna be eating those words BBQ, the man's putting together a very good team so far.

Because obviously two choices in his cabinet are representative of the entire way he intends to govern the country.

Anyway, personally I think she has too much of a personality to be very effective with a role beyond senator in Obama's administration, but I suppose we'll just have to see now. I have a hard time imagining that she won't undermine him in some way or another, though.

And I strongly dislike how this seems to be to set her up for 2016. I just don't think she would be a good president. Not to mention I don't think that riding into the oval office mainly by your husband's success is a good story for the first female president. I'd much rather see someone like, say, Sebelius win that honor.

You're forgetting her experiences as First Lady; She's plenty qualified for this role IMO. That said, if he wasn't the VP I'd actually have to say Joe Biden is the best suited by far for this role.


Putting aside political affiliations let's look at some of the people he's got on board so far; (official cabinet posts + advisers)

Reich, Rubin, Axelrod, Clinton(s?), Emanuel, Geithner, Jones, Powel, Buffet and there's a good chance he'll be keeping Gates on board. Obama's not fucking around here, he's surrounding himself with the top talent and people who will challenge his ideas so he can get an objective viewpoint.

Experience and qualifications and actually being good at your job are two very, very different things.

I'd just like to add some Republicans are actually happy about Clinton. But like the Governator I also think Obama has to be reaaally sure he will be able to work with her and that she will work for him and the country instead of only for herself. But if that's been cleared out already then there's no denying Clinton does have a lot to bring to the table.

Also, I still don't like her for the the crap she did in the primaries, but if Obama thinks he can work with her then I'll just go with that. And it would be a good idea to put Bill in a box or something for the next 8 years too.

But I guess it's unlikely for her to screw things up purposedly because that would probably end any aspirations for her in 8 years.

We'll see. /shrug
