Another big reason is the republican party has always been about family values.

Their party in general frowns on pre-marital sex and of course pre marital pregnency.

Also the republicans are still the party of tradition meaning mommy stays home and raises the kids while daddy is off at work making the bucks. They were never strong supporters of the flip side. Although this is entirely done by the media, to build a following for palin. She was unknown up until a week ago, and now thanks to extensive media coverage on the baby thing, the media has garnered her support on the "that aint right", "men can stay home too" card. Thanks to the media this has turned her into the most popular of the 4 and removed any talk of policies from the game.

If you take the convention bounces as looking like that, McCain has a few points that he's likely to lose. Additionally, the past week or two of media coverage and campaigning has been really bad for Obama. When you consider those, the fact that the race still looks like a competition is very encouraging. And then you've got other encouraging factors for Obama that aren't going to show up until election day, such as his ground game; as well as the huge amount of blatant and shameless lying McCain's campaign has been doing lately. It's gotten to the point where not only are fact checking groups (such as factcheck.org) and democrats are calling them out on it, but so is the mainstream media.



Even Fox News, which currently has the above incredibly tasteful LOLcat on their front page, has FOXNews.com - Fact Check: Palin and the Bridge to Nowhere - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum .

I don't have much faith in American voters, but even I don't think they're going to snooze through all of this.

Ok didn't check this at first but the IP's are different (Votefor: 64.203.107.149 Los Angeles & McCain: 72.21.92.132 Chattanooga) and both are registered by proxy so it doesn't have to be the actual person registering it. There really isn't a way to show what you think it does. In fact, this is the proxys motto:

Ah, but have you looked at the way the electoral college is leaning? Obama currently has support from 27 states, while McCain only has 21. That is the only poll that matters.
