    Re: Obama Picks Biden

    Question...Isn't Biden anti-consumer? If so wouldn't that spell bad news for consumer based jobs and companies?

      Re: Obama Picks Biden

      You might be thinking of Joe Biden's pro-RIAA, pro-FBI tech voting record - Yahoo! News , but I don't see anything about him being anti-consumer outside of that. Not that I looked very hard.

      However, the lesser evil is clearly a pro-MAFIAA Vice President, over a pro-censorship President. (See: EFF "Censorship - Internet Censorship Legislation & Regulation, 1998" Archive , Think Progress John McCain’s War On Blogs [Check the links] )

      Not to mention this little comment about blogging:

I had opinions on everything, and I was always right. I loved to argue, and I could become understandably belligerent with people who lacked the grace and intelligence to agree with me. With my superior qualities so obvious, it was an intolerable hardship to have to suffer fools gladly. So I rarely did. All their resistance to my brilliantly conceived and cogently argued views proved was that they possessed an inferior intellect and a weaker character than God had blessed me with, and I felt it was my clear duty to so inform them. It’s a pity that there wasn’t a blogosphere then. I would have felt very much at home in the medium.

          In any case, I'm not part of the blagosphaere. And there are plenty of people who are that are far more mature than not he is (and obviously was)

            Re: Obama Picks Biden

            I was thinking back to the beginning of the year when Biden said he would proudly run with or against McCain, and he did not support Obama because his lack of experience. He said we shouldn't elect Obama because he only has "on the job" training...how easily do ppl forget what Biden has said in the past?

            All the bad things Biden said about Obama he humbly apologized and now he's the VP. Obama pretty much put the nail in his own coffin with that pick. Mixing a new Senator with a career politician does not invoke "Change".

            Plus I've met Biden in person, he's the most arrogant piece of work you've ever seen. He thinks he's better than everyone b/c of his position. Really, it's true.

              [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_6IXjUNP84]YouTube - Pres. Bill Clinton Address at Democratic National Convention[/ame]

              First ten minutes of Bill Clinton's speech, and he not only reinforces Hillary's endorsement, but also says that Obama is ready to lead AND that Biden was a great pick for VP.

              [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvY9HxFJymY]YouTube - Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) Addresses the DNC[/ame]

              Biden's speech. Very slow start. Nothing too amazing. I'm disappointed that they're taking the "Russia is infringing on Georgia's sovereignty" route, but it's not like Republicans have any other opinion on that. Reinforces the major points (Obama better on foreign policy, national security, economy, etc.) but doesn't seem to be any different.

              All I really have to say is that they need to start picking better music. They already have the gay community; if they get much more campy they're going to need a big te--...

              you know what, nevermind.

              EDIT: Also, kerry's speech.

                I didn't think it was possible, but I think the Dems are going to lose again.
