  • You think what?

I know I don't always buy into popular belief. I'm sure Feba would be more than happy to confirm that fact. But then you come across something like this and have to wonder how they're able to breathe with their heads so deep in the sand.

Apparently they've never been on a plane or out in the ocean where you can actually see the curve of the earth.

    Re: You think what?

There's a difference between a popular idea and one that actually has basis in fact. The whole flat Earth thing was actually the former at one point in time.

Sea? You need an ocean to see the curve? Try the nearest skyscraper with an observation deck. Pretty sure Galileo noticed something similar with a few story high belltower way back when.

You want fun, though. Try looking for the Hollow-Earth proponents. They're interesting.

        Pot, meet kettle.

You have absolutely zero room to laugh at these people, you do the exact same fact-denial.

For those of you who aren't being incredibly hypocritical in finding this entertaining, check out Time Cube . It is a laugh riot.

Sounds like a mission statement for a community college.

And I'm guessing the Time Cube thing, like the Flat Earth page, is basically a joke?

OMG isn't that the truth! LOL Does make for some good sci-fi-ish ideas though!

Sadly, your faith in humanity is misplaced. Both of those actually do have followers, and the people making those points believe them.

So the guy's actually trying to be legit...that's just....that's just sad.

The flat earth thing: I think there were originally a few who believed it, Tom Bishop was apparently the one who started it, atleast from what I can gather from that site, but most of the people who defend it are usually trolls or just people screwing around and having fun (nicer trolls).
