So today was a family outing day. We all went to a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game (they played the Nationals so we were pretty sure of a good outcome lol). We had perfect seats in the shade, thank goodness! Everything was great until the 2nd inning.
I was sitting there watching the game when I smelled whiskey.....a LOT of it. I looked up to see 4 people (2 guys, 2 girls) in their mid to late 20's trying to figure out where they sat. It was obvious they were extremely drunk. I just kept thinking "Oh please let them be in another section..please...please..." but unfortunately they were right behind us.
It immediately started with them screaming at the field every 15 seconds at the tops of their lungs, many times using foul language. There were several other families in our section with young children and everyone was giving disgusted looks.
At one point I leaned over and quietly asked my husband to give me one of my headache pills because all the yelling was giving me a headache. Well one of the girls overheard me and started talking smack to the 3 other people about me. "Screw them, we're here to have fun!" "F**k em if they can't enjoy themselves!" etc etc. Then I hear them whispering and I hear one girl say to a guy that he should spill beer on me. About 10 minutes later, beer is spilt on me. They laugh like crazy and start talking about how funny that was. I turned to the one young lady and said "Oh yes, that was just hilarious. My grandchildren are better behaved than you are." That was the only time I said anything to them or even looked at them.
About 20 minutes after that incident, an entire beer is spilled all over my son and I and even the surrounding people. It went down 2 to 3 rows in front of us. And I'd had enough. I found a security guard and complained. He shrugged his shoulders. DOT....DOT.......DOT
I insisted something be done because I paid for my seats too and all he said was "Ma'am all I can do is have a talk with them." I said to do it then. He told them to step into the tunnel with him and one of the girls went on a rant at how wrong it was for me to do that. How I was horrible for ruining their day. blah blah blah
Five minutes later, they came back and sat there and talked smack about me behind my back. Even talking about how one of the young men just recently got some felony assualt charges dropped so they weren't worried about getting into trouble cause he had a priest that would stand up for him. They talked about following me to my car and how the 2 girls could deal with me and my grandkids and the 2 guys could deal with my son and husband. One of the young men took to kicking the back of my seat non stop for the rest of the game. That really helped my headache. >< In the bottom of the 7th, I heard the girl say to the young man "No don't throw that cup away" and laugh. He mumbled something and then I heard him say "You aren't gonna get her again are you?" She said "Look for the beer guy cause I'm gonna do it." Aaaaaaaand that was pretty much the end of my day at Miller Park thanks to a group of drunks that just wanted to "have fun" and a stadium that didn't care if I had fun.
If my grandkids had not been there I might have done something more as far as complaining but they were tired and getting cranky. I just didn't feel like having to deal with them considering the mood I was in. And I didn't particularly care for my Eau de Miller Draft cologne either.
Honestly, I don't understand how the people that run these events can stand by and let people like this ruin it for others. It's highly unlikely that I'll go again because of this, especially with my grandkids. My eldest kept saying that their mommies should wash out their mouths with soap and that they were very bad. Pretty bad when even a 5 yr old can see it.
