    Right after I was engaged to my husband, he came to the bar I was working at (3rd job trying to pay the bills). I had the blessed night off and had crashed in my car in the back of the bar. (Long story, I was homeless.) Well, he thought the worst (that I was out with someone else) and drank himself silly. On the way home he fell asleep while driving and plowed into a tree at 40 mph. His blood alcohol content was .55 and the emergency room doctors said that alone should have killed him. A normal person yes, an alcoholic no.

      I could use a drink now.

        Not that I don't enjoy getting shitfaced, but that's drunk to the point where I could feasibly lose bowel control, definitely too much for my taste.

          Don't get me started on drink drivers... I dealt with their mess to often.

          as for do i drink much? the answer is No, in fact due to medication and the realities of my old job, I am now TT.

              Don't know how you guys do that, lol. I had to shotgun 2 beers after losing my Goliard Cuffs to the trash last week just to not throw the controller.

                  The first 2 years was hell. But it took picking up some poor sods head off the road during the aftermath of a high speed head on crash between a families car and a drunk driver to see its not worth it full stop.

                  It doesn;t help that the Uk is becoming the capitol of drunken slobs and liver damage of the world. I mean come on, a MASH style tent with doctors and nurses in the city centre to take pressure off the A&E (ER) on weekends.

                      I've never been drunk in my entire life, nor I'd ever want to. And I certainly despise beer.

                          I just don't drink, never have, never (hopefully) will. It's just not my thing. I can see going down to a bar/pub (my definition of pub is far, far different from what other people think of apperently) with some friends, have a drink or two and hangout with your friends. BTW, the iced tea sucks at bars, or so I have found.

                          But to actually go to a bar and just get drunk? That's always seemed stupid IMO, and I would never do that.

                          Plus, some people are happy drunks, some people are mean drunks, and there are a whole host of other drunks, I just don't wanna find out what kind I am.

                            Time to learn new words!

                            Today's word of the day is: Moderation. Say it with me now: Mod-er-ay-shun.

                            Moderation is this crazy new concept were instead of going to extremes, you realize when it's time to call it quits. This idea can be applied to many, many different situations.

                            It is actually possible to drink and not get drunk. It is actually possible to get drunk, but not get totally shitfaced. It is possible to take recreational drugs and not fuck your life over.

                            Far too many people failed the vocab test that week in 5th grade.
