I think in acceptable circumstances slapping a woman back to her place is perfectly fine. They are on the whole we are equal to men thing, and if your going to swing like a man you can fall like a man imo. Now don't get me wrong i dont condone assault or anything like thatbut if you come swinging at me like a drunken indian im going to lay you out like your 6' 200LBS. I feel completely upset by this story because this child is young and has clearly been drilled that women are like lowers and must be handled with care, but he had yet to learn some flowers have teeth and sometimes those teeth bite, and when they do its time to get pluck them. If a man can get charged for hitting a man, and a man can get charged for hitting a woman, and a woman can charged for hitting a woman, then a woman should get charged for hitting a man, if you want to be equal then man up, if you act like a drunken indian and go around swinging expect to get your teeth pulled.

Again, I'd like to point out that the OP gave us a 2 sentence explanation to what happened. I don't know where you got that the child was drilled to stand there and take it but I didn't see that anywhere in the OP's statement. Like I said in my post kids do not just stand there and take it, they hit back. If kids listened to everything they were taught and held true to it even when parents weren't around...........ohhhh I can dream....

Also the young man must have had some condition that aggravated the situation. Two children nearly the same age and one dies from being punched by the other? Like I said before, when I was young we played a game were you would punch one another until someone went down, kids play rough games. The child was probably playing so to assume that the young girl was being malicious is just silly. There just isn't enough of the "story" to make these assumptions.

And as for hitting a woman thats a personal choice but violence in any fashion is not acceptable. If it were we wouldn't have assualt laws and smacking someone is assualt whether they hit you or not. If you are in fear for you life, then you have the right to defend it. If you are not, there are plenty of non-violent ways to end something.

That could do it, if he was hit near his sternum or solar plexis. Speaking as someone with Asthma (it hasn't bugged me in years mind you) a few good hits that knock the breath out of you CAN agitate it. If that's the case the poor kid likely suffocated to death.

They go around demanding crazy things like equality, messing it up for the other ones.

Yes asthma can be very tricky. My son has asthma and after it was diagnosed he had episodes for about a year and then......nothing. Over 10 years later, we had to clean out the game room closet and it was very dusty. The plaster ceiling was crumbling and he started to have some issues. At first he said he had a cold and I believed him but it got progressively worse and then I knew it was not a simple cold. We didn't have any inhalers in the house and he has no insurance. He is an adult and refused to go to the doctor or the hospital. I spent many scary nights with him as he was down on all fours gasping for air and his lips were turning blue. (And no I could not call the ambulance/paramedics either because he would refuse to go and they can't take him unless he's unconcious....which looked like a possibility and then I WOULD have called!) I begged people online and irl for inhalers if only to use them for a day or two. I eventually got one and he improved dramatically. So Mal, even if it hasn't bothered you in years, PLEASE keep an inhaler in the house at all times!

Sucky thing is that Asthma never goes away. Despite me running long distance in High School and taking martial arts, all that really did was raise my tolerance threshold for the inflamation that never really leaves the lungs.

I can't say for sure what triggers my asthma now, but *knock on wood* it's not given me problems. I feel so bad for the kid's parent's though. That's what we should be focusing on.. Sending them a card or something.
