Re: My apologies........but I have to.....
I had a collection from 30 years of gaming. There was a LOT to lose unfortunately.
Thanks Jarre, I'm taking all the hugz I can get! ^^
Nope, he walked to the bottom of the stairs, had a brief discussion, and went back up. That was it. I think it was because he saw my husbands prosthesis was at the bottom of the stairs and asked "How much does one of those go for?" My husband said 10-15k but that the VA pays for them. After that he walked back upstairs.
Well Feba, the systems took the biggest hit. All the controllers/mylars/bricks/acc./etc are toast. (Robby....Robby....*sob*) I did salvage a few of the base systems but most of the older ones didn't whether well. Funny thing, a DC that was underwater for 2 days still works after drying it out. THEY JUST WON'T DIE!! lol
Lost all of my Hallmark Star Trek ornaments. All of them..... /slitwrists
People have been msging me saying "Well why did you put that good stuff in your basement!!?" The short story is WHERE THE HELL ELSE WAS I GOING TO PUT IT!? lol I have a small old farmhouse in the suburbs. Back in the day homes were small because people didn't have all this crap. So when my daughter and her 2 kids moved in, I had only one room in the house that could be converted and that was the game room. We did rent a storage space at an outside facility and I did put 1/2 of my collection in there, along with all my daughters crap. (Nope haven't gone and checked it and frankly I'm afraid to.) I kept the most important stuff for at home....because it was safer there. <insert maniacal laughter here> We don't live in a flood plain and in all our years here the only water we've had in the basement was from when a overhead pipe burst. The storm was one of those freak storms where it came down so hard and fast that the sewers couldn't keep up. I'll just keep telling myself that it will be 20 more years before I see another of its kind.
