Many things just wouldn't make much sense to most people without localisations, even when they're silly (for example, food items). And series that become popular enough can be fixed later (for example, DBZ, and I think Naruto)

Well let me put it this way, imagine how much different things would be if 4Kids got a hold of Naruto, Bleach or Death Note.

I'm all for creative freedom, but I draw the line at rehashing meaning out of the original work and twisting it out of shape. That annoys me to no end on how they do 'cover ups' when its blatantly obvious what was the orignal meaning or that couldn't be possible.

I'm pretty sure 4kids already does own Naruto. Either way, it doesn't matter-- if it's that bad, you can get a translated version of the original.

Again, this is a needed part of localization. This would also ruin shows that many people love (again, robotech)

Whole thing is retarded, but if parents would pay more attention to their kids instead of letting TV and games raise them, we probably wouldn't have this issue and the current state of being a blame culture.

Censorship is stupid, I still don't understand why you can't say shit and fuck on TV. We've all heard it ... we're not really fooled when a TV character says, "Oh, shoot!"

He has been a huge influence on the censorship of gaming for quite some time, even if he's no longer got his panties in a bunch about all of it, you can't really argue that he has affected a lot of the way games are marketed in the States.

I agree about how SC is heading -.- I loved the first 2, and when 3 came out, the only reason I kept it so long was because of the character creator. When I found out IV was going to have it too, I reserved it, then found out they threw in Star Wars characters and first thing I said was "what the #@!%"...........

Then on top of that, by magic every female charater whent up 2-3 breast sizes, and again I was like "what the @!#%"..........


I almost took out my reserve...but I am holding out since it has character creation and online play both. Also it was said that later (not at release) the other characters will be downloadable content, so you can have both Vader and Yoda no matter what version you have (not 100% sure this is true)


Its sad that a company would just go the sex rout, then take the time to make the game truly better. I love my boobs and ass, as any man, but I also know of a thing called taste -.- and when poor clothing taste meets magic growing boobs..... *sigh* well it sucks

I just think its insulting to men when they do this kind of thing. Yes men are sexual beings and love an alluring woman but when they go this far.... I like to believe that men would prefer a good game over a so-so game with huge breasts in it. I guess thats not what some of these developers are thinking...."Just throw some huge knockers in there George and they'll buy it..."

Speaking of this sort of thing, it was also done to the Pokemon manga. The one that I've heard didn't suck, and actually stuck to the game's plot(!)

SCII was more or less a repeat of SC, but it was quite refined, especially the Version E build which was where Link, Heihachi and Spawn were added in as unique characters. Those characters didn't get slapped on so shamelessly as something like Star Wars. Two of them were actually video game characters and the other a comic book hero. It felt more natural to have those characters cross over, I suppose.

I'll have to disagree here in that it felt really odd to have Link and Spawn randomly show up in this game. I mean I can understand why, marketing wise, they'd be in it...with Link being a big Nintendo name and McFarlane actually lending his talents to some of the SCII character designs, but it was still a nice big "wtflol" to have them randomly thrown into this fighter.

Sailor Moon was aimed at an older audience then pokemon and doesn't even have half of the blatant sexuality of the Pokemon cartoon. I mean Sailor Moon does have sexually oriented stuff...in the way of a lot of homosexuality and such...but Pokemon is just boobs boobs boobs I mean Sailor Moon's sexuality wasn't really fanservice like Pokemon's is because Sailor Moon was made by a woman for girls.

As stated before, Viz has Naruto and does a pretty decent job of not hacking and slashing it where not needed. However 4kids DID have One Piece, and BUTCHERED the bloody hell out of it. After failing horribly with them, Viz got it back and fixed it up to near perfection...but by then it was already too late.

Some studios are just better at redubbing shows to try and keep their content as close to their original content as they can while others will forcibly alter a show into something it was never meant to be. Thankfully, Toonami and AS try very hard to keep the original content in their Animes as much as they can.

Between that and Rocko's Modern Life, things were a lot worse back then. At least kids nowadays at least have Sponge Bob for their thinly veiled innuendous content.

I dunno I was watching sponge bob with my little brother oneday on the hoidays. In the one episode spongebob is clearly watching sponge porn, and when his snail shows up he fumbles the remote and claims he was watching sports.
