There is only one thing missing from all that. The phrase 'marriage is supposed to be.' It's not viewed that way anymore, the majority of people view marriage as a cheap, temporary thing. They don't try not to be assholes, they don't try to think of other people.

What marriage is and what marriage is supposed to be have become very different things.

And that's a problem.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here: perhaps the problem is that too many people are getting married for the lulz, not that divorce is too easy. If people didn't jump the gun, maybe not so many people would have to divorce?

Devil's advocate here, but the same could be said of anyone, even the most atrocious of criminals. That isn't a logical basis for allowing an activity.

Trust me, divorce is not easy. It took me 30 minutes to get married, almost two years (and counting) to finalize my divorce.

Well, homosexuality is being attracted to members of the same sex. I'd say that attraction (read: gawking, flirting, stalking, awkward moments, said people trying to avoid you) constitutes an activity.

Anyway, you get my point. "Because these people exist (and there is some religious power that made them like that), they're just as valid as the rest of us" is only really valid if you advocate complete and total anarchy, where people are free to do absolutely anything they want with nothing preventing them from doing it. Again, just a devil's advocate point of view that it's not really logical; it's not that I disagree with gay people being ok and perfectly natural.
