You two wont be saying that when hordes of elementary school kids start killing people on the streets. You'll regret not giving it the attention it deserves, mark my words.

That's not really a huge concern of mine.

I mean, if we get to the point where our society gets it's ass kicked by ten year olds, we kinda deserve to die out.

time to move back and settle down in Thailand I guess...

What kind of cartoon portrays someone's head getting smashed with a paperweight, then handcuffing and tieing her up, and repeatedly stabbing her? Are they watching unedited anime?
Reminds me of some adult JP anime.... up to the handcuffing part at least.

It's only shocking when parent's realize they fucked up and can't figure out who to blame other than themselves. Media may have a lot to do with how things are portrayed to the public (thus effecting their opinions), but I still stand behind the idea that in most cases, parents need to share some or all of the blame for how their kids behave when they are not around. Perhaps your 8 year old with autism doesn't need to be watching slasher flicks or killing hookers in video games. Maybe they just need you (parents) to read them a book. I don't remember the Bearenstein bears teaching me how to rally kids into killing my teacher.

Well, theres the answer. Just lock them away so the tax payer gets to foot the bill... because why not make me pay for yet another worthless no account's 3 hots and a cot? i mean it's not like our current prison system has not already failed and turned into a finishing school for criminals, instead of the supposed punishment it should be...

how about we try a different approach. first off if the offender is under 18 he/she gets to go to a reform school. but this school is funded by the parents only. if the offender is over 18, then the punishment would depend on the crime. get caught stealing then serve a month on a HARD labor gang. kill or rape someone and we will put you in a box and mail your ass to another country. that alone would change this place for the better....

i have a brother in law who killed some one, this SOB lives better in prison then i do working 3 jobs thanks to the repulican penchant to screw over the poor... how is that punishment?

Re: Third graders facing charges after plotting to attack teacher

Well, since nothing serious happened.. I can only say that this is actually a good thing. Sure, we can all read this news and comment on how bad the youth is at random places around the world..

Looking at it from a personal perspective though, everyone knows how it goes in the classroom. Only 3 of the kids would've been enough to get the whole class to "plan" this. It might very well be possible that 6 of the 9 kids haven't even said a word or participated in this other than acting like this was a good plan, without facing the reality, seriousness and causes of this whole plan.

Sometimes, things in the classroom that seem like a revolution in the world's evolution, are forgotten even before the children have arrived to their home and play with their Lego and Barbie's.

Now, because of the fact that this thing has been made into something big, the interference of their parents and even the police will more than likely leave a huge impression on the children, which they won't forget anytime soon. I think next time they will just continue drawing horses and creating paper-airplanes when a few kids mention a plan like this, when a teacher is not in the room.
