Yeah, that's pretty much how I saw it. Tifa being all jacked up on Materia must've really exhausted her MP pool, and tanking four girls from DoA/Ninja Gaiden really did a number on her HP, so it'd be no surprise that Yuna busted out both a Potion and an Ether for her (I'm thinking they were of the "Hi" variety, at the very least). Tifa also showed her versatility in jumping straight into Drunken Boxing mode (as someone earlier mentioned) to keep the drinks (I loved how she basically was just guzzling those things at the same time
).
As for the question that was asked (but never answered, not that I saw), Tifa had access to various magics due to the fact that she came in equipped with Materia already (her arm glowed with several orbs of light, in the manner of Advent Children, signifying that she was equipped with various Materia). The fact that she only had maybe one or two of each of the different colors suggests she has several pieces of mastered Materia, allowing the use of different spells and techniques that were all related in the same group, just with less space used.
This'll be interesting to see how the fight goes from here. I'm still betting on an appearance from Celes, Terra, or both at some point or another, possibly to help a stranded Kairi if/when she comes across more than one DoA/NG girl (a likely scenario considering she was sent off alone, and had barely any screen time, much like Tifa in the first one). Either them, or Ashe, Fran, and/or Penelo.
