I worked network security for a while. You come cry to me about internet filters when some retard downloads a network virus or floods your network with UDP packets by watching the friggin' Home Shopping Network over their Internet connection. If I see your IP address in my DNS cache for "www.porno.com", yeah, your boss will probably hear about it. Regardless of your little loophole, if you do things on the Internet your company doesn't want you doing, we'll still find out eventually.
You're probably... I'm guessing... young. You seem to treat work as your "new parents". It's not. If you don't work at work, you don't get to work and you don't get money anymore. If you're network antics cause me to have to get up at 2am to purge some virus from my stations, I'll make sure you know how unhappy about that I am.
If you want to surf the net at work buy a damned PDA phone or a Wireless NIC and use your own bandwidth, not your employer's. The work network is for work, not for your personal use.
