When people say 'get off the internet and go outside' they do not mean 'Go act just like you do online, except in the real world, where they have police and tear gas, and big guys who can beat the hell out of you for your idiocy.'

Also: They're ruining the cool of V with their chan-stolen Anonymous bullshit.

That's not the only way it went. There were lots of people running around being idiots sure, but those who were actually there for the cause were pretty effective in being heard.

Though the longcat banner is freaking awesome.

Telera, if you'd actually read the links, and if their sources are reliable, you'd realize that the protests were peaceful and lacking in incidents or violations (which is pretty goddamned amazing when you realize they were protesting accross the globe; you'd think there'd be at least one asshole out there to do something incredibly asinine and ruin it.) They followed the rules, they acted like civilized people, so what's the problem? Protesting is not a crime if it's peaceful.

And, it's not "chan-stolen bullshit." They can't steal memes from themselves, and the Longcat banner WAS humorous. Besides, if the Guy Fawkes Mask look is so easy to ruin, it's not that good of a look to begin with.

Don't get me wrong, I know Anonymous is a bunch of idiots most of the time. But jeez, chill out. All you accomplished was make yourself look really biased =/

I've been to my fair share of protests and I totally agree that this was absolutely amazing. I know to most of this younger generation, it's no big feat to organize something like this GLOBALLY but it knocks my socks off. I remember the days of trying to organize things statewide and the nightmare it could be. lol

I was skeptical about their efforts when the declaration was made, but I was surprised with the turnout. If they actually concentrate this effort to having real action taken against the cult in terms of reviewing their tax exempt status or business dealings, that would be more of a threat to Scientology.

Right now I'd say Scientology isn't worried... it's when they start suing, you know something is bothering them.

The next protest is on March 15th. Visit CoSplay to find an event in your area and sign up. You'll find discussion on worldwide events at Enturbulation.org. If you're at all interested, please support this cause. Keep in mind that this is a peaceful protest. No weapons or anything resembling weapons are allowed. To be safe, only distribute bottled water if you want to help by bringing refreshments. Also, find out first if your state allows citizens to wear masks while protesting; some do not.

The Church isn't suing because almost no one at the protests worldwide left them any information. A few people got arrested and were let go, and one guy lost his job. Anonymous was there for a reason.

Congrats Anonymous... You officially have Scientology's attention.

Scientology is seeking a restraining order to stop protests.

Isn't that their default reaction to everything?

Well, that or a straight out lawsuit.

You're not allowed to hit kids anymore, or shoot them when they're on your property.

heh. I doubt they'll actually get a restraining order, considering they're all peaceful protests.
