Current peeve, on that note: people understating how serious Ebola is. First and foremost, it is not only transferable by body fluids, it is droplet-transferable much like the flu, and also like the flu, it doesn't take much for the virus to mutate and become airborne. Secondly, we already have at least three more cases here than we should have had in the first place, and this is undoubtedly only the beginning, in spite of what the government propagandists would have you think.
Yes, panicking is absolutely not productive and at most would only make things worse, but there are so many stupid people making themselves visible online being mighty cavalier about the highly contagious super-virus. Expect countries to not accept flights from the US in the coming months. Which really sucks, because I just freaking want out of here at this point. Family-owned property is nice and all but it is absolutely not worth all the routine bullcrap that utterly refuses to change.
Not to make light of Ebola, but about 50k people a year in U.S. die from pneumonia. It's hard to believe Ebola will catch up to pneumonia in U.S. in the next few years, nevermind the 1918 flu pandemic (600k+ U.S. deaths).
Available evidence indicates that Ebola is much harder to catch than the flu. Also, not to say it can't evolve to be as catchy as the flu, but given that it doesn't seem to have many near relatives that are good at infecting humans, it can't exactly take easy shortcuts by mixing up gene materials inside of human hosts.
Still, panic over Ebola isn't very high on my list of real-life peeves; fools who don't like their hearing but love to crank up bass so loud that their music vibrate my butt from three cars away are still more of a nuisance.

leaving no trace in the water. - Mugaku
Also the only people catching Ebola are the people treating people for Ebola. Unless you are coming into contact with the blood, saliva, sweat, semen or other bodily fluids of someone who currently has it, and putting said fluid into your mouth or open wounds, you shouldn't be catching it as long as you wear the appropriate gear. Nigeria pretty much has things under control, and the Spanish nurse that originally caught it made a full recovery.
Statistically you are much more likely to die to a ferret attack. There are very few diseases that are both extremely lethal and highly contagious.
I am sitting here drinking a mug full of liquor because it's one of those days where my vices are the only thing standing between me and an early grave.
One of my case fans is starting to die. Had to unplug it this evening when it started to sound like an airplane engine. Not looking forward to replacing this one since it means figuring out how to tear half my case apart to access it.
Unanticipated returning players, DDoS attacks, and overall lack of preparedness has led to the worst expansion launch by Blizzard yet.
I've been playing this game through three expansions now counting this one, and I've always had to sit in a queue for the first few weeks after expansion launch. Usually, the queues are about 2-3 hours at the absolute most. I understand this and expect it, which is why I was online and ready to go as the content launched.
Right after that, there were server crashes and rampant disconnects. Content launched at 2:45 AM, and I finally gave up around 4:20. I played for about an hour and a half yesterday morning, but since I had class, I didn't get a chance to really play like I would have liked. There was maintenance today, so I took a nap, when I woke up I got in the queue. That was around 4:45.
I am still fucking sitting in the same queue I was in. That is a nearly seven goddamn hour queue. I expect some queue, yes, but not a fucking seven hour queue. And I'm reasonably sure I still have at least another hour or two to go.
And to top it all off, they're doing more maintenance at fucking 6AM. So if I am lucky enough to get into the fucking game tonight, I'm gonna get booted at 6 anyway.
I don't usually complain about this, but this is fucking bullshit.
Yeah I've been hearing a lot of problems with it as well. The irony is the Warlords has causes a ton of players to return to FFXIV because the servers in WOW are too full, so they go play something else.
Returning to FFXIV is apparently the new returning to WoW.
