I would in no way quote me on this as I am in no way a qualified doctor:

Unless there are cancerous cells on the bloodstream or it has spread to a major organ (other than the skin) then she should be safe to have the kid then get treatment.

Has she actually had a diagnosis of cancer?
It's too common today that people are told they have a tumour, cyst / weird growth thing, Before any investigation has taken place they run round saying cancer. Not all lumpy things are tumours and not all tumours are cancerous.
Was she in good health aside from regular pregnancy stuff?

Cancer in the thyroid I dont experience very often. I can't even think of a patient I've had that has died of it. It's one of the more survivable cancers.
I'd imagine how far along her pregnancy is if it were serious then you'd be seeing it taking effect.
I don't think it will grow that big in in a few weeks. She doesnt even have to come full term with her pregnancy, it may be premature, she may opt for a c-section which gives the doctors more room to plan her treatment.

I wouldnt worry too much,

I feel bad for her aged 17 and two life changing lumps inside you.
At 17 I'd want neither cancer or to become a mother. It's a cruel world.

One of the harddrives in the file server appears to have died. At least it was a mirrored drive so we haven't lost anything, although I'm more concerned that we're having hardware failures before the file server is even fully operational. I'm going to chalk this up to my boss being a miser and always purchasing the cheapest stuff he can get his hands on rather than going for quality products.

She was in good health besides the pregnancy, and the cancer. And yes, it has been confirmed that its cancerous. It is growing as well. So, I'm just beyond worried.

I also just got updated that she's at 29 weeks pregnant, so I'm not as worried at the moment now.

29 weeks isn't too bad. I've not had much experience with midwifery, I've only delivered two babies personally.
I have a few midwife friends I could ask some questions on your behalf to ease any concerns you have.

I imagine her doctors have an action plan ready to go it's just a waiting game for getting the little person out of her. But she's young and fairly healthy which are two of the qualities that are important when facing a cancer. Thyroid being one of the least dangerous.
Try not to worry unless you're given good reason to, From the sound of it it's not a choice of baby or cancer treatment if she was at such a high risk she probably wouldnt have carried so far, I'm not sure on numbers but I think 29 weeks is beyond the risk statistics if the baby were born now.

As I said before try not to worry so much and cross your fingers she delivers early so she can get straight into battling the tumour then work on being a mummy, She'll need a lot of support, emotionally and physically.

I hope all goes well for her, It's nice you're concerned for her.

I worry about all of my family and friends. Especially if there is an unborn child in the equation. They didn't yet have a chance to live, and they are going to be taken away before they do?
