Here's my pet peeve: myself. I don't know what it is about this anxiety, but I feel like it replaces my personality with fear. No matter how confident and strong I was before all of this, it easily replaces all of that and turns me into a nervous pile. The worst part about it is that it feeds into itself. Consciously or unconsciously, it loops back and adds to itself. I think it helps to get it off my chest.

Smelling Salts. Seriously. Smelling Salts. Invest in them, use them, love them.

Also: I think it's hilarious that TM's kids petition him for food. Next they'll be picketing the kitchen. Just whatever you do... don't let them unionize.

Well, now I have to go in the stall to replace the toilet paper. The one they just vacated. The one they (maybe) just wiped their ass in. This isn't a bathroom with open top and bottom, the stall is a room that holds in the smell.

With so little to go on and not wanting to pry anyway, I think two common roots to something like that are either (1) Your body has a need and you're not fulfilling it. A common cause could be a lack of sleep, in fact, that's quite common for unexplainable anxieties. Then there's (2) there's some issue you need to deal with that you're not. You may not know what it is because what once were coping mechanisms are now routines or because as a man you're just told to stow emotions, bury them, not talk about your problems because it makes you look weak That sort of thing. It doesn't go away, though, it just manifests itself in different ways, like anxiety.

That's just my psych minor talking. If you're eating and sleeping well and can't pinpoint what it is eating at you, probably go see a therapist or at least talk to a counselor to get yourself sorted and pinpoint the problem. Best I can tell you.

Can I be my own pet peeve? I let my ego get the best of me yesterday doing deadlifts. Jumped from 225 to 405 (after doing just the bar and 135) thinking I was warmed up enough. Ended up pulling a muscle on the right side of my lower back during the second rep. It feels better today, but still feel stupid for letting it happen.

I'm not entirely certain my anxiety problems stem from pscyh- issues. This whole thing began when my sympathetic nervous system exploded and pretty much began running exclusively in emergency mode. I think one of the byproducts of this the psychological dysfunction I'm currently experiencing. It's a chicken/egg issue, so it's difficult for me to say with any certainty, but the order of events I experience speak to the nervous system running wild before any negative thoughts emerged.

Still, the problem does exist that it's feeding into itself. The anxiety puts fear into my mind, and it isn't always easy to identify and reason my way out of. Because the physical symptoms are persistent, the anxiety is persistent, and I'm not completely able to unravel the coil. I've made strides towards changing the way I think, which alleviates some of the anxiety, but only Lexapro can blanket the entire problem and solve every aspect at once. It has yet to kick in, so I'm left struggling on my own.

So here is what happened.

I was working at the register, and I get a guy who comes up, only car out in the parking lot, in the DARKNESS, which is a BLACK car with its lights off. He's sitting at pump 2, where the glare in the window is most annoying due to the coolers in the store.

Its night outside, and its a black guy that's a bit larger than me, and I get these people ALL the time, but this one topped it off because he tried to intimidate me. He walks up tot he counter and throws a 20 down on the counter, and says I'm at that pump. So, I can't see the car, due to the conditions. So after a few minutes of going back and forth, I get the pump number, and put the money ont he pump.

Right as he turns around, I ask him polightly to look on the pump, and get the number for me, which is on the top of the pump. So, the guy turns around and screams in my face that I was calling him stupid and shit. Getting right in my face, leaning over the counter.

2 things happen when some one does that to me.

I either laugh, or I jump at them. Well, this guy caused me to almost jump over the counter and pound in his head. XD

Okay, I'll bite.

If it's not obvious, "holiday" is derived from the phrase "Holy Day" (or to be precise, the Old English word "haligdæg" meaning just that). The history of Easter Sunday is as long (nearly 2000 years, anyone?) and tumultuous as the history of Christianity itself. The observed resurrection of Jesus Christ was kind of a big deal (not every day you see somebody who was publicly and brutally executed walking the streets three days later looking better than ever), so not only is it observed as "holy," it's basically right next to Christmas as one of the biggest events in the faith.

Oh, but we all know how Christmas has turned out today. How long ago was A Charlie Brown Christmas produced, again? At least that long has it been at least as commercial as it is holy; heck, it's not even likely to be even close to Jesus's actual date of birth (it's speculated that He was actually born some time in the Spring, perhaps mid-March-ish). As I recall, it was the Roman Empire that, as a matter of convenience, gave the date as the one for early Christians to celebrate the birth of Christ, alongside several other already-existing Winter festivals (many of which have traditions that survive through modern Christmas, such as the Christmas Tree or caroling). Who's not to say that, just like Christmas, that Easter has been bogged down with loads of commercialism and irrelevant symbolism, or even an improper date? What do rabbits and eggs and the middle of Spring have to do with a religious tradition? Easy: they're all symbols of new life (tends to arise in Spring, emerge from eggs, and what are rabbits typically known for the world-round?).

Of course, by rejecting the idea that Easter is holy, you could just simply be indicating that you are not a Christian; if so, that would be an incredibly hipster way to go about it, though.

While we're speaking of Easter peeves, you know what bugs me? Zombie Jesus jokes. I'm not even offended; they were genuinely funny the first time around. But now they're just plain old (much like the zombie craze itself, perhaps), and perpetuated by sarcastic snobs with nothing better to do in their free time.
