At least I got XI to stop disconnecting exactly every 5 mins. That modem I was using is awful at handling sessions. <_<;

I soaked them for several hours, had them in a crock pot for ten. Tested em, still kinda dry. Strained them, put them in a fresh bowl of water, put them in the fridge to try again later. Took them out, put them back in the crockpot, let them be for about ten more hours. Still kinda dry on the inside.

Gave up, threw em in the stew pot with some other stuff to cover up the dryness. Texas Pete and crushed tomatoes with rice does wonders.

Ah, that is why. You really need a pressure cooker or it'll be like trying to cook pebbles.


Hmm, I guess that could be a good way to make pebble soup. <_<;

OK, so yeah BBQ, I'll share my killer OMFG its so good chili recipe. It's cooked in a crock pot all day (10-12 hours or so)

Mezlo's Chili:

1 lb browned ground beef
1 lb spicy italian sausage browned and cut into 1/2-3/4" pieces
1 lb steak (stew meat)
1 can PINTO BEANS
1 can red kidney beans
1 can blakc beans
1 BEER (preferably Stella Artois)
1 4 oz can tomato paste
1 16 oz can crush tomatos (i get the one with garlic / herb seasoning)
1 diced red onion (medium)
1 diced white ontion (medium)
2 diced jalepenos
1 packet Lowery's chili seasoning

Throw it all in the crockpot and let it cook on low for 10-12 hours! Mmmm...

Beer cooks off in food. I've cooked a steak with Jack Daniels because I didn't have anything else to cook it with, cooked right off and didn't even taste it. Alcohol has a lot of carbon I think in it, in beer anyway, so it all cooks off when you set the heat to high or when high amounts of heat are applied.

And seriously, it's chili. It's not as though even if it didn't cook for that long that you'd feel as though you were eating a bowl of beer.

Contrary to popular belief, most of the alcohol you add does not cook off. As far as the flavor goes, it varies by what drink you're using and the food you're adding it to.

These new shirts that we got for work ... they suck. I wash them, they still stink. I have to Febreeze them before I wash them. I'm sorry, but that's a pain in the ass. And if you think I'm hand washing shirts three times a week, well, you might wanna reconsider, because fuck that.

But seriously, any suggestions? I'm tired of having to take extra effort to wash my shirts. Yes I wear deodorant, yes, I have recently changed brands in case it's the deodorant that's not working (that's not it) and wearing shirts underneath didn't really help.

There are certain detergents that have Febreeze added right in. I've used them in the past and they work pretty well.
