Related: At the end of my work day here, I have to send out a shift report to my managers and the members of the OCC in PIT. The email gets CC'd to about 100 people and I've accidentally left out the F in "Shift Report" on more than 1 occasion. It was both amusing and terrifying every time.
So today, Thursday the 24th of November marks the sixth consecutive month of job hunting since finishing university with nothing to show for it . It's starting to become depressing.

Keep you chin up firewind, I know the feeling as I too am on JSA and having to look for work across the whole country to find a job in my field They've given me till Valentines day to find a job in my field before they push me into other jobs. What are you qualified in?
History and Archaeology is what my degree is in. Wanted to go into teaching/lecturing but with the education budget as gutted as it is, they simply aren't hiring new teachers in my area whatsoever.
Journalism is something else that has interested me, and I did apply for a few online content writing jobs for various company new pages and local newspaper sites, but I only managed to hear back from, and get an interview with one so far. However with 300 other applicants for that one job, I seriously doubt I will get it when they can just hire the 50 year old who likely has 30+ years more experience than me.
It's a bit sad when you find yourself literally applying for every single open job you come across, only to find out that several hundred people are doing the same thing. I remember once a couple of weeks ago applying for a job as a cleaner at a nightclub and found out there there were also 100 other people (pretty much all University leavers desperate to find any job like myself) going for it.
Another issue I'm having is that I'm basically running out of stuff to apply for. Until new jobs get posted I can only really apply for stuff out of the area, which I can't do since:
1) I can't afford to move since I've been stuck living on rapidly dwindling savings for the last 6 months.
2) No job means I can't afford to run a car to commute to those further away jobs unless it's within walking/cycling distance of a train station.
For the second visit in a row, my mother-in-law polished off all the Oreo's in my house within 15 minutes of arriving. I'm going to have to start hiding them when she comes.
I hate that too Jarre.
When I had to take time out for mashing up my back they tried to get me pushing trolleys round a supermarket.
I basically said "wtf I'm a qualified nurse" and they're reply was "you're an unemployed qualified nurse now push the trolleys"
I'm tempted to fake my death at times make my way to france and come back to england hiding in a truck saying me speaka no engrish,
4 bedroom house, a car to help get to work even though I cant read the road signs and free money.
I'm not a racist or xenophobic. Our country just doesnt look after us at all. We're the county that gives everybody the right to do what they like, UNLESS you actually are from here then your rights/beliefs are insulting to everyone. It's getting to a point where it'll be a crime to be british.
I mean no santa's grotto's or nativity scenes in the city centres anymore. But who's selling xmas crap on their market stalls? Yep you got it the immigrants that find it "offensive"
They came here for a better life and decide to make our lives worse. If being here is so insulting they should go back to the warzone they came from and realise that they are taking liberties !

Aye satori, my problem is I do have a mashed back hence finding other jobs will be difficult due to me not being able to lift, stand for long periods of time, do multiple sudden movements etc. What gets me is the people who want to work get shat on from above and stuck in really crap jobs while the people who don't want to work and would rather doss about get away with it. There's quite a few families around this area where 3 generations are all on the dole because they can't be arsed to work and somehow are beating the system to keep that way.
I'd try get on incapacity if I were you mate,
Some peole on JSA are being sent to do full weeks in places like poundland for no extra money.
I had two friends that were good at fiddling the system, rent, water rates and council taxall fully covered plus their money to spend. They were a couple and doubly claiming.
When I was signed off I only had contributions to rent and stuff but had to make up the difference out of the money I recieved.
As always the genuine people get shafted and it's a shame because if they didnt need to claim they'd be out working and contributing. Instead they get denied the money they poured into the system.
I know what kind of area you live in, I'm in one just like it.
signs everywhere encouraging you to grass them up but forgetting to mention a lack of a witness protection program if you did lol.

I live in an area where there are only four types of people who actually have money:
1) Drug Dealers
2) Football Players
3) People born into money
4) Police Officers on the take, usually from #1, #2 and #3.
Since I don't have the infrastructure, startup capital or enough money to buy off CID in place for #1 and I'm not a Professional Football player, #4 Is looking seriously tempting.
