Peeve: The bill in Congress (specific number as soon as I find it again) that would make the use of any Copywritten material used within a youtube video punishable by a fine and/or worse.
Example: You post a video of yourself singing "Put a ring on it" with the actual song playing in the background. You can now be fined for copywrite infringment.
As a popular YouTuber already pointed out... this would make Justin Bieber's first videos subject to the same possible punishment. I'm not saying I wouldn't LOL at Justice Beaver in jail... but for everyone else? Good bye freedom...
I'm not sure of my opinion on copyrights in general as an incentive to innovate, but I think it's obvious that there is a point at which copyright law does more to stifle innovation than to encourage it, and if we are not already past that point then we are trying our damnedest to get there as a nation. Blah blah blah state-corporate complex yadda yadda #OccupyStuff etc etc.

The notion of free speech reminded me of this.
That is fucked up.
Get me that bill number or a link. I want to write my congress person about this one.

I already sent my letter.
The way I (and many others) see it is... if this bill were passed it would open the flood gates and drown our free speech. First they copywrite background music in YouTube Videos... whats to stop them from imprisoning you for writing Beyonce's name on a blog? How about lyrics.com? God forbid I hum anything by LMFAO in public...

We're there already.
Or for the tl;dr version watch 5:05-5:45 of part 1 and 2:25-4:40 of part 2.
