Peeves:

Obama acting like he suddenly has a real plan for jobs. Yeah, let's cut employers a break and then beat them to death with a bat after that break. That's the plan congress must pass now, but even some democrats are all "lolwut?"

Also, six days of peace and quiet from my roommate, but on day seven I find it takes only three beers for him to start swearing at his girlfriend and find his chewing tobacco on the living room walls. Oh, and that's when he wasn't arguing with her outside the condo in his underwear. He wasn't a redneck when he signed the lease, so what the fuck happened? Is he just white trash on Sundays?

There will be some new rules if this shit persists:

No beer.
No chewing tobacco.
If you must spend the weekend with your girlfriend, go to her fucking place.
No crying about it. Its your problem you have a DUI and "need" her in your life right now. Buy your own fucking bike if you don't need her..

I have a feeling that the girlfriend and the drinking go hand in hand. She's not exactly a winner or attactive, but he IS using her right now for transportation in general. I'm not taking him to work, he's first shift and I'm second.

I really wish I had gotten a chick for a roommate instead. I never trust other men to live as quietly as I do.

Also, grown men need to live within strict rules when they're around me because I find it bothersome when they get out of line. Banning substances and incidentals, rather than troublesome behavior itself, is the solution.

Had to run to BJ's yesterday, so I decided to take my daughter (she's almost 3). I'm meandering around looking at the TVs when my daughter yells about a ball that she wants to play with. I say, "You can't play with that, those are Christmas balls." F****** Christmas decorations out ALREADY.

Every year they come out earlier and earlier. Its sad how Christmas is turning into a store holiday now, like Valintines day... Rather than what it should be about....

What do you mean? Christmas has been a consumer holiday for decades now. When was the last time Christmas wasn't accompanied by a flurry of marketing and retail sales pushes? Not in my lifetime or yours, I can guarantee you that.

Here's Obama's plan in its most basic form::

(1) Give corporations tax breaks to create jobs
(2) Raise taxes on everyone making over $200k

People that make over $200k - they're not exactly Bill Gates rich, but they do make up the bulk of the people that create jobs for other people. Job creators that might have a niche for a Japanese translator, for example. What happens when you take money away from those little guys?

No jobs for other little guys, that's what.

Maybe you can now see why even a growing number of democrats have a problem with this. Only an idiot (or someone just insanely evil, but let's go with "idiot" for now) would vote for this bill.

If this is what Obama plans to campaign on, I don't think people are going to be that dumb this time around. Even people your age are getting uncomfortable, you know, seeing former upperclassmen struggling to find a job with that fancy education and all. Still trying to figure out what the point was to mine, myself.

As for the roommate thing - I'll wait for you to get out into the real Real World and not the one you think you've had firsthand experience in. Trust me, a 41 year-old roommate that leaves chewing tobbacco on the wall and argues with his girlfriend outside of the apartment in his underwear is not something a man in his early 30s wants around.

Its funny as shit in college and just slightly after, I'll give you that. After 25, its in the /facepalm territory.

I live in a nice, easy-going complex. No one bothers each other. Yes, I have had neighbors argue outside before, but they did it fully-clothed without spitting chewing tobacco juice. I have neighbors with children playing in the daylight hours that could see that.

Maybe it would pass for normal on a farm or maybe I really am being a girl about it, but at the end of the day I just don't like it and if it continues to be a problem, it will be dealt with. I wanted a roommate, not to be a parent to someone older than me.

Because people use their personal salaries to pay other people's salaries. So of course we shouldn't increase tax on their personal income, because they might create a job or two when they get around to it.

Give me a fucking break.

Also, if your roommate signed the lease, then you're fucked. Otherwise, I'll agree that that's ridiculous behavior, and if he's renting from you directly, give him notice and get him out.

Got disconnected from the internet on Sunday.

On the plus side it meant I ended up playing Black and White all day. I had forgotten how much fun that game was. It's really difficult to play as a good god though, the resource situation simply does not favor it.
