Sanctity is still a useful concept whether you put the force of deity or moral absolutism behind it. It's a label that says "never violate this" and if circumstances become bizarre or extreme enough for you to consider violating it, make damn sure of your reasons.
Takelli, I would say that if you and your partner agree on your attitudes about sex and make that a rule of your relationship, then you would certainly be right to be upset if that rule was ever broken, even more so if it led to other wrongs like lying to you, but what's right for your values isn't necessarily what's right for everyone.
